After you click on that permalink you need to clear the cache of your browser to have normal permalinks.
Are you using Chrome or Firefox?

OK. I don't have the same problem. That's with turning off Keep My Layers and Toolbox for fixing PLs. It gives long URLs, but not what I'd call bad.

Firefox, on the other hand, has PL issues for me. I may go check if Chat Add on is the culprit.

Chat Add on is the culprit. It is very simple to test.
I agree, but I wasn't having the problem in Chrome with the chat add on. I had already tested there with no issues for me. I turned off TB and Keep My Layers to make sure they weren't fixing the PLs. With Chat Add On enabled or disabled my PLs were the same and fully formed.

I was going to go test to see if it was the cause of my issue on Firefox.

Here is my second data point...
in Firefox I cleared cookies and cache. With TB, KML and Chat Add On disabled before clearing everything, and the URLs are malformed:

Code: Select all

https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lon=-117.76901&lat=33.70051&layers=1925&zoom=5&mode=0&mapProblemFilter=0&mapUpdateRequestFilter=0&venueFilter=0&problemsFilter=fals&update_requestsFilter=false&u%0Apdate_requestsFilter=false%7CGROUP&lo%20...%20ueFilter=&apProblemFilter=0&loueFilter=0&lo%2B...%2BueFilter=0&Filter=0&%3Blo%20...%20ueFilter=&lo%20...20ueFilter=0&segments=6817578
I switched to private browsing, same settings. Here's a PL before Chat Add On enabled:

Code: Select all

https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lon=-117.76901&lat=33.70051&layers=1925&zoom=5&mode=0&mapProblemFilter=0&mapUpdateRequestFilter=0&venueFilter=0&segments=6817578
PL with chat add on enabled and after reloading:

Code: Select all

https://www.waze.com/editor/?env=usa&lon=-117.76901&lat=33.70051&layers=1925&zoom=5&mode=0&mapProblemFilter=0&mapUpdateRequestFilter=0&venueFilter=0&segments=6817578
Trust me...I'd love to know what's messing up the PLs in Firefox for me.

hi, many many thanks!! great script. :o :o

would it be nice if you could select some members of the chat in order to get alarms or rings just from them -not from everybody writing- when you're in a conversation.

good work again!

I was thinking in the second one. I mean, if you begin a conversation with anyone (maybe its the first time you talk to him) would be nice to select that specific user to be 'adviced'

Would be nice when sorting by distance to see the actual distance to a user, so if you're looking for new editors in your area you at least have some idea where they may be before wasting the effort to jump to them.

True, I am often hesitant to use "jump" to them because they often get scared by it and log off when they see your avatar appearing on their location all of a sudden.
I usually go invisible before jumping to a newbie.

Of course, if they don't have live users enabled, they won't see the avatar (or proposed speech balloon) anyways.

There have been some situations where I've been unable to get their attention and have actually spelled out "pls stop - open chat" in red roads.
It works.
Used that trick last night and tonight :P
