Unofficial GLR Waze Editor Meet-up

Post by
Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay fixing this, things never seem to go as planned!

So far we are looking at a possible meet-up near the end of October beginning of November.

The date is still tentative but needs to be finalized.

Location will depend on who all is coming, but we are going to try to keep it near SE Michigan from the looks of it.

There will be options for those unable to physically attend who want to participate and pending everyone's approval I would like to record the day for notes and future use.

If there are any topics people would like covered or any specific questions that may need investigating please let it be known here so the appropriate people can be prepared.

Attendance will also need to be finalized soon so we can get the required facilities. If anyone has any suggestions on locations I am glad to look into them.

Thanks,
-Ski

Indy does sound like a good location.

I'm on duty both Saturdays, but can look for a trade to make either one.

Hey folks,
Maybe @SkiDooGuy would be interested in http://doodle.com/ to help schedule the meetup? I hope it happens!

Good suggestion. We have actually used that site to help schedule some Champ events in the past.

Our more local informal meet-up is probably pushed back now due to the recent NYC meet-up and other goings on.

I've asked SkiDooGuy to talk about it here after noticing your post the other day.

I'd be interested. I know the weekend of Nov 8 is definitely out for me. Although I notice everyone responding is L3 or higher. :)

if distance is a challenge for some: What about periodic state-based gatherings that invite folks from neighboring states (with SMs/RC invited to attend any and all)? Different gathering in different city in each season.

I propose a bit of a challenge, say pseudo road rally format.

1. Pick a location that is accessible throughout the region … say Indy
2. Pick a distance that everyone must travel … say 200 miles … to make it a bit more equitable for everyone except MeridianHills.
3. At the meet-up everyone must reveal their WME history …
4. The individual who arrives closest to the established rally time with the closest to an exact 200 mile “drive” drinks for free …

With the holidays coming it is doubtful that most of us could go far … but say a series of state meet-ups all on the same day would be cool.

Those who cannot make it get to host the next one …

Well it looks like we have the place down, so dates are coming into play.
I missed that element of the discussion. What is the planned location?

I actually could do South Bend/Elkhart for a daytrip, but I would be unavailable the weekends of Nov 1,8, and 15.
