It is not possible to set speed limits on private roads or are they included for possible future functionality?Speed limits that are designated on private property may be added to road segments on the Waze map at the discretion of regional or state managers.

How about leaving PLR and PR out completely until they can be directly viewed/set with the WME?CBenson wrote:Regarding SLs on PRs. Oddly you can set them. Just change them to street, set the limit, change them back to private and the SL shows in the app.
(changing FC to set "hidden" data should be left to experienced editors)

Perhaps this is outside of the speed limit guidance, but it should be possible to identify school zones without advising speed limits (timed or "when flashing"). That's more work, of course, but it's definitely speed limit related.nzahn1 wrote:This is draft guidance for Speed Limit implementation in the MAR region.

We had a brief private discussion about how precise speed limit transitions should be. This could affect whether nodes need to be added while editing the limits. For example, if we want the speed limit change to be within 25 feet of the actual sign it would cause the creation of more new segments than if 200 feet were acceptable.
Looks really good, Nick.

There are not adjustable times for SLs. So as the guidance says you post the legal limit. That doesn't mean you always go that speed whether the snow/ice prevents that speed or a school speed limit prevents that speed.SpencerFG wrote:Perhaps this is outside of the speed limit guidance, but it should be possible to identify school zones without advising speed limits (timed or "when flashing"). Is there a way that we need the guidance to be clearer?

No, this guidance was used to develop the national guidance. There are a few minor tweaks from what Nick initially submitted but it is very close to his original thoughts from Feb.
