Level5→L2 Unlock: Pennsylvania - Lancaster

Post by TR-11
My level: 3

Could a level 5 user please reduce the lock on this segment of Greenfield Road to a Level 2? I don't see a need for only this segment to be locked at 5.

Also, this AGC can probably be removed as well.

Thanks!

The lock is necessary to prevent people from changing the geometry of or deleting the necessary AGC and to prevent enabling incorrect turns in the intersection. There is nothing wrong with having to make a request should any modification be needed. Quite few times people have been stopped from making massive changes because of just one locked segment that got in their way. The obvious problem here is that someone might enable the right turn that is actually carried by the AGC or permit SB traffic to turn left onto the AGC.

In this case, there is a "turn right" instruction right which coincides with an entrance to a school.
So I do see room for improvement to the geometry of the AGC. I hope someone takes another look. Connect the PLR and I think the problem is pretty obvious.

Whats the purpose for lowering the lock? Is there any issues here that need to be address? Additionally, the AGC looks valid to me given the length of the turning lane.

I'm not saying I'm denying help, please don't think that's the case, however there was no purpose listed for why the lock should be lowered other than "just because." The AGC could probably have the angle adjusted but considering it was set by a global champ not that long ago AND If we deleted the AGC it would have the same prompt either way, I'll re-check the departure angle and make the appropriate adjustments

I just didn't see the point in having two small sections locked at the highest level, requiring a request to be unlocked should any modifications need to be made in the future.

If you disagree, no problem-- just bringing it to your attention. Thanks!
