Route 9, Southborough

Post by world_llce6jsp
Hi,

We have numerous reports of inappropriate directions but we cannot fix them since it is a level 3+ road. Route 9 is a barrier divided highway and needs to be redrawn as such. Can someone of a higher level fix this?

Wow, route 9 is being divided. I thought that creates more problems than it solves, just curious, what happened?

I vote no. They are a visual record of the seriousness of this problem and how they affect users. That's more important than making the editor look nice.

I simply gave up responding to user reports on Route 9. It's hard to say to the users "Waze's handing of divided highways is inadequate right now, there's currently no way to correct this seemingly simple problem." So rather than close out these bugs and sweep them under the rug, my hope is that enough red flags appear along Route 9 that someone higher up notices the seriousness of this problem.

One way to work around this is to add driveways with turn restrictions on every parking lot entrance. But it simply doesn't scale, especially locked at level 5. What would be useful is a "jersey barrier" segment type to automatically prevent left turns coming from an area with no segment, in other words an unmapped parking lot.

I was motivated by OCD-based hatred of red dots on the WME...

And we finally got the supervision and permission to get it done....

Rt 44 is limited access freeway type roadway on the eastern 1/2 of the stretch between I495 and MA3. The western 1/2 is undivided suicide style highway. I split that eastern section with a divider.

And thanks for the lock drop. I'll get to it after work today.

I prefer the term "wicked pissah"

Oh, and I split Rte 44 in Plymouth so I've had to learn the technique... If those segments get unlocked, I'll just take little chunks at a time to make sure they're truly set before moving on.
