I've noticed that there seems to be an unspoken state-wide conspiracy to go over the speed limit by exactly 7mph.
Exactly 7. It's uncanny. 90% of the traffic on the road is going exactly 7mph faster than the speed limit (assuming there's not too much traffic to do so.) Maybe about 7% of the rest going even faster, and 3% going less than 7mph faster. Only about 1% go the actual limit and less than that go slower.
It was so exactly similar to each other and so freakishly common that I thought my speedometer was 7mph off. Until the speedometer on Waze restored my sanity.
I'm pretty sure people around here just assume a speed limit isn't a law, it's a suggestion.
