RI Villages

Post by GooberKing
What should the official policy be for handling villages in RI? Should they be listed on roads as alternate names, with the primary name showing the town the village is contained in? Or should they be listed as the primary city name? I've also noticed some areas using CDPs for city names (e.g. "Newport East"). How should those factor in?

Just want to put that in the wiki for when I get around to cleaning up all the "Greater XX Area" streets in the state...

OK, so after much prodding from our Esteemed Leader, I've written up a proposal to how to handle villages in RI and other New England states. Feel free to provide comments and suggestions, and MojaveCactusMonkey will present the final product at the NYC Waze Meetup.

Let's do it for the little guys!

Nice write up GK.

Actually I've made a similar post with credit to GooberKing for his effort on the New England forum for some sort of consensus for each state.
