There seems to be an issue with correctly parsing Lat/Long to as they all link to https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=5&lat ... ayers=3557 which is somewhere in Broomsbury, UK.

I should note that the Places Updates in question are all based in Greece (Athens specifically) and that the "Open in new WME tab" work perfectly fine for MPs and URs.
I think you are referring to the link in the popup from URO+, bugs are still being resolved with URO+ and you should check in that forum for details.

When selecting a place area or adjusting a geo-node of a place area, the save button does not activate. Also, when performing the two actions just mentioned and you attempt to pan with the mouse, the movement is exaggerated ten fold. So, instead of panning just a few feet, you get shoot a few miles.

Does that mean it's going to be released in an update or should have? Cause I'm experiencing it.
Will be released "soon"

The links are the same, because handling the &showur/&showproblem part of the URL is also done by URO+...
[FEATURE REQUEST] I was unaware that URO+ was handling those links. That could explain why they didn't work for some people in a PM. I regularly PM editors regarding URs and do so copying the link from your pop-ups. Perhaps you could add link "click here to copy PL" or something similar which would copy a link to my clipboard which could be opened by anyone using native WME.

It could be set to copy to the clipboard automatically when clicked on, or be like the other links, and copied using right click.

One final addition can also be found about halfway down the Misc tab, as a special treat for those editors who aren't terribly fond of the colour green... enjoy

I finally had a chance to glance at the editor, the permalink text doesn't include a UR reference. It's essentially a stripped UR of just the location.

What I was looking for was a permalink which would open the UR on any browser, even if URO+ wasn't installed. Using the " &mapUpdateRequest=0000000" instead of "&showur....&end show". The UR ID is the same.

For example
https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=5&lat ... 21&env=usa

[UPDATE SUGGESTION]

Can I humbly suggest that the special bubble icons for [SPECIAL] URs be defaulted to selected (to display), and can then be disabled by those editors who dislike them.

These URs are very helpful and since the loss of railroad notes, and red roads and places descriptions also showing up in the client, they are the only legal way for us to leave valuable tips and notes for other editors. However most editors, even experienced ones using URO+ seem to be unaware of their existence. In areas where there are lots of URs, its hard to notice the one 3 month old with the important note in it. If these were by default displayed with the special icon for whoever had URO+ installed it would be much more useful. And for the very few who may find a problem with it (I can't think of any) it could be disabled in the settings).

If you agree please [emoji106] or comment.

Just make any UR, through livemap or the client, and start the description with the tag for example [NOTE].

EDIT like this one. Unfortunately you need edit privileges in an area to see the URs, so you may not be able to see this.

Ya, can't see it.

Interesting... what is the closure policy on [NOTE]?
Any special URs should be closed only after the conditions they describe expired, sometimes indefinitely. A [CLOSURE] or [EVENT] UR for example can safely be closed say a week after the closure expires, if there is no continuing conversation.

[CONSTRUCTION] and [ROADWORKS] Should remain until they no longer provide helpful info. Say a UR was left to alert editors that roads have changed here from the sat view. It could be closed after the sat view images updated.

Some [NOTE]s describe permanent obscurities of the map, and should ONLY be closed when the no longer apply, usually by the reporter them self. Or someone of sufficient rank and skill to understand the original issue, and that it no longer applies.

This being said, apart from closures and events I wouldn't close any other special URs without a comment to the original reporter and 7 day wait.

*The above is my own opinion, and does necessarily represent the community consensus view, or Waze as a whole.

I should have been more specific.

I meant from the Waze side of things... is there anything to prevent an L1 on a "7 day rule" closing spree from closing them?
Well not really. You can send a gentle but firm welcome PM to that editor with clear links to the wiki/UR#Not identified page section which discusses the criteria for closing URs. The "7 day rule" is for stagnant URs with not enough information to determine the problem. Is the problem is clearly described, and you personally just don't have the ability, skill, or knowledge to fix it, there is no "7 day rule".

With these URs they are usually very descriptive of the problem, the reporter is usually an experienced (somewhat at least) editor and will usually respond to conversation replies and PMs within 7 days. So unless the problem they define no longer applies - there is a problem, which the new editor can't fix, and therefore by guidelines the UR should be left alone.

If there's a recurring or damaging problem from an editor, who isn't responding to a well written professional PM with links to the guidelines in the wiki, and an explanation of why what they are doing isn't good. Then it needs to be escalated to the RC so they can be educated or restricted from further damaging the map.

As ian mentioned when these are closed, the reporter gets an email with a link to the UR and the text, it only takes a few clicks to replace them. Talking from experience [emoji1]

TwisterUK was very kind to give us an arsenal of tools for handling the 'clutter issue as well. These URs have different types and icons, and are immediately identified as not something you have to try to solve. They can hidden from view as a group by type if the clutter hurts your eyes.

I requested earlier (which started this mini off-topic rant) and I'll paraphrase here The option for these URs to display the special icon to anyone with URO+ installed should be Checked (on) by default. This has garnered some support, and hopefully can be implemented making these more visible to editors on a close and don't read spree stay away from them.

As a side this discussion is only tangentially related to the script and I apologize for the long detailed response. I had no intention of hijacking the thread. Back to regular scheduled programming. If this UR closure discussion must continue, it should be moved to the WME forum.
