[Updated] Community Plugins, Extensions and Tools

Post by Fredo-p
With the introduction of the WME Chat system, it was inevitable that scripts would be included to enhance/improve it. A new section will be needed for the two new addons that have been created.

[UPDATE]
I'm going to start creating the new section for them now.

I would like to take the opportunity of the Wazeopedia project to propose a renaming of this wiki page.

I found the current name, "Community Plugins, Extensions and Tools" too long, especially if we consider that we will regroup the detailed pages about the tools as subpages of this one.

The current "Extension:WME Toolbox" (which is inappropriately using the Extension: prefix as it was an existing namespace) should be tomorrow attached to this Tool page as a subpage. (we'll keep a redirection from this former erroneous page title)

But anyway "Community Plugins, Extensions and Tools/WME Toolbox" is definitely too long...

Thus I would like to propose you to rename this page in something shorter and easier. It could be "Scripts" or "Tools" or "Plugins" or anything short and relevant that you may suggest here.
The former long title page will become a redirection to this new name.

My personal advice is to use "Scripts" as it is the common word used by most of the users when they talk about these enhancements and as they are actually javascripts.

This way, tomorrow, the WME Toolbox page will be referenced as "Scripts/WME Toolbox". Besides we can have a set of shorthand redirects to point to this title ("Toolbox", "WME Toolbox", ...)

So let's consider that, so far, the consensus is to use "Scripts".

As 2 GMods (Tim & Orbit on GHO) have confirmed that such a change does not required to go through the GMod approval process, unless otherwise stated in the meanwhile, I'll proceed with this renaming (and all subsequent redirections/links/update + updating the global page list) within Wednesday COB CET.

Added screenshots of each scripts settings and in-chat use.

I support renaming to Scripts, and the move of all Scripts documentation to be subpages underneath it.

Currently there is a page named Scripts which redirects to the existing long name page of Community Extension, Scripts, and Plugins. So we would essentially be swapping these to pages moving the content to reside under Scripts, and the long name to become the redirect.

I wouldn't argue over it either, and the other names can still redirect there. Isuggested that one just because at least in the US these extensions are commonly all referred to by editors as "scripts". If that's different in the rest of the world maybe its not the best choice.

I agree in principle to a shorter name and subpages, though I'm not wholly satisfied with "Scripts". I personally feel that "Extensions" or "Addons" would be technically more correct and more relevant to users.

However, if the majority prefer Scripts, then I can live with that. It's really not worth arguing over
