I think the content is great, but what would the title of this page be called and is it something that people would search for? I typically use terminology and search for something like "U-Turn Prevention Mechanism". I would just want to ensure that people can find the content when they're looking for it.

"Controlling U-turn penalties"
It will also be transcluded into other pages.
As usual other titles which may be searched for can be added as redirects if you want to suggest some.

I converted the mbox linking to the forum at the top of the page to a {{ForumLink}} template to be more consistent with the rest of the wiki. No content or links were changed. (I felt this was a simple style change with no need for moderation.

I would also like to update the warning message on the page. It currently says:
It is possible for this method to fail to prevent a U-turn when it is the first segment of a route or reroute. If you observe this method to fail when it is implemented properly, please report it in this forum thread
To be more accurate, as I most recently explained, i'd like to update the text. I've had this same scenario reported several times and think it would do well to me covered here. I suggest changing the warning to state as follows:
It is possible for this method to fail to prevent a U-turn when it is the first segment of a route, or it immediately follows a reroute. If you observe this method to fail in other situations when it is implemented properly, please report it in this forum thread.
If you have any objections, critiques, suggestions, please post below. If I don't hear any objections in a week I will make the change.

How about this:

2) the U-turn being considered consists of three segments: the starting and ending segments (both one way) and the connecting segment (can be one way or two way)

Not exactly circular, more of mutual linking to related topics. What it may point to is a gap where a complete understanding can't be obtained from a single page, but that doesn't bother me too much in this case.

Obvious mistake, and per the recent discussion on the page approval process, did not even require discussion. So I did it :)

There was already one anchor statement, so I added this as a second param to it.

Note that in Wikipedia, common practice it to include the anchor within the heading, so that inbound links will show the heading. Makes for ugly history, though. I left the existing anchor below the heading.

I think that's an obvious clarification.

Great work, all. This is exactly the kind of content I wanted the JSG to have before I got swamped with schoolwork.
