I thank Rick for this tool, I use it in conjunction with my detective skills and fix the map.
I totally agree. Each UR should be investigated before any response is sent, as some can be fixed right off. And if not, you can often ask a specific question that may save some back and forth with the reporter. Automatically sending a canned response without even looking first is not a good editing skill, IMO.
I agree as well, while automating would be nice, a mass automatic canned response could actually delay fixing some URs since you wouldn't look at it.

We just don't have the ability to process in a timely manner. I'm trying to come up with some simple ideas to try and assist such a heavily trafficked area while maintaining the integrity of processing URs. This idea would by no means be a substitute to investigating. It would just aid in getting information for an otherwise unsolvable UR.
If something like this is able to be done, my suggestion would be to make it an option that has to be selected each time you hard refresh, along with a pop up confirming the operation.

In most cases I will use URC and leave a canned response and then if there is something obvious fix it. I will not close out the UR though until I have a comment from the reporter or enough time has passed that the reporter is obviously not going to respond.

I don't know about any of you, but I do not know how many times I've been burned by URs. Let's say one is reported as "Turn Not Allowed". You look for and find a turn that should not be allowed and fix it. You think you have won the day and then the reporter responds that the address 10 miles away they were going to is in the wrong spot. If I had closed the UR to "I found a turn not allowed cause that's what you reported" then I would never have corrected the original problem.

In your case, a canned response still doesn't really help. A canned response will surely not elicit as helpful a response as "I disabled the left turn from southbound SR-123 to Booboo Rd, is that the one that you reported? Let me know." would.
I have never run into that. In Colorado at least, I have never had a UR (with no starting comment) ever be what was reported. 99% of the URs I deal with is addresses, either in new areas, non-existing, or bad Google addresses. All of which there isn't a category to report under in the app and of course the app will not pass the reporters destination as they typed it into the app to us automatically. So, I can't "guess" at what it is and then ask the reporter as all they do is come back and say "WRONG, it's the place I was going to" like they think we know and then I have to drag that out of them to fix it. I have found that guessing only makes a reporter mad so I don't guess and I tell my editors in my states to never guess.

I get much more polite and easy to follow answers when I ask "What issue were you reporting as the app passes nothing about your drive so that I can easily fix it."

And read the notes.... A few of the replys need to stay in the position they are in for them to work correctly when applied automatically.

Pretty much all scripts broke due to a new format of the URL. Fixes are coming fairly quick for monitored scripts

URs seem to be delayed. I dropped some on Tuesday and they just showed up today.

I believe this is the correct script...with the new change to WME Prod, when you use a standard comment and send, it no longer closes the UR. Not a big deal, just something that has changed.
