You can add an unlimited number of place points to the map, presumably you are not the only person who delivers to those businesses, if they are added to the map then everyone can benefit from them.

See topic and links from it on mapping UK places.

Please ensure that if you do add any place points to the map that they are added to the nearest point on a street to their entrance. I found one today for a paintballing centre, the place point may well have been in the middle of the paintballing centre but the nearest road to that point was the M25. Waze quite happily navigated users to the hard shoulder of the M25 then told them that they had reached their destination!

Hi, I have reached 99 including 'home' and 'work' and can't add any more.
Very disappointing as I'd like to add all of my 400+ customers addresses that I deliver to for my business.

Please increase this.

Awesome that at least you guys have acknowledged the problem.

I drive a small van delivering food to house hold customers not businesses. I don't own a car as my van is for personal use too so I really need to add addresses not place points.

And based on the large amount of users that have accumulated millions of points on the score boards, I'd say that most of these are certainly not commuter drivers and are more likely to be delivery drivers like myself so I reckon the amount of users that hit the currant app limit is actually very high.

Does the app limit really depend on your phone memory?
Are you using your phones memory the more favorites you have?
If it is using your phones memory then why have a limit in the first place, it makes no difference to the app.

Wether you are a business delivery driver or a casual commuter its irrelevant. The favorites feature is one of the best features for me and many others so I don't see the need to limit it.

Just my thoughts

Don't agree with this. Waze is intended for car drivers only, yes. Waze is of particular use to commuters, yes. But no car driver wants to use Waze for commuting and a different SatNav for other journeys.

I know some taxi drivers and light van drivers use Waze too. But they have to accept that Waze is not capable, at present, of recognising their vehicle type, and cannot guide one along bus-and-taxi lanes, or the other around height/wight restrictions.

It's a continual source of frustration that the priorities for Waze development often do not match those of the UK community. Sometimes this is because Waze is a global app, and other countries have different problems - fair enough.

The maximum limit may be something to do with avoiding excess data being synced over Waze's server. Imagine if every user of Waze had a few hundred favourites, it could cause Waze to require larger, more expensive servers (although now they're owned by Google I don't know if this is a worry...)

Whilst having places mapped out is indeed beneficial to the Waze community at large, I can see why the in-app limit on favourites could be a problem for people who routinely revisit the same large list of destinations - even if they're all mapped out correctly and you therefore know that searching for them will give you the correct result, its still extra work required each time you want to navigate to that destination. It also means that you'd have to have network connectivity back to the routing server in order to perform the search, whereas if you've got the place saved as a favourite then its location is cached in the app allowing you to get going faster.

Imagine if the limit were reduced so the app only allowed you to save your home and work addresses, and that for every other journey you'd have to search for the destination each time, I think we'd all get a bit tired of having to do that. So whilst the number of users who hit the current app limit is probably quite low, unless there's a good reason why the app needs to impose a limit at all (beyond whatever storage space constraints are imposed by the phone itself) then I'd be in favour of having the limit increased.

And for delivery drivers, another thing to consider is that the destination point mapped out for that place may not be suitable for them (e.g. delivering to a supermarket, you probably wouldn't want to be directed towards the car park entrance), so they may still need to store customised destination points in their app rather than using the points returned from the server.

Before anyone reminds me that "Waze is intended for use by commuter drivers only", I personally think we're well past the point at which the number of non-commuter Wazers means we ought to be looking at how better to support these types of user where there doesn't seem to be any good reason why whatever it is they're asking for can't be supported with minimal outlay of effort, as seems to be the case here.

Visitors to the waze.com front page are greeted by the following two taglines at the top of the page...
Waze is the world's largest community-based traffic and navigation app. Join other drivers in your area who share real-time traffic and road info, saving everyone time and gas money on their daily commute.
and
Imagine millions of drivers out on the roads, working together towards a common goal: to outsmart traffic and get everyone the best route to work and back, every day.
OK, so adding the "only" to the end of that statement was a bit of an over-reach, but given how much emphasis continues to be placed on Waze being a tool for commuters it's not really that far off the mark. And whether you consider it to be only or primarily for commuters, this doesn't invalidate the point I was trying to make there - how much longer will the Waze devs continue to hold out on introducing features that would be of primary benefit to users of other types of vehicle? Particularly when some of those features would also be of use to some car drivers - e.g. anyone driving around the Thames Valley area in a lardy-arse Range Rover (other similarly-weighty cars are also available) might not be too happy if Waze kept on trying to direct them across Marlow Bridge...
