Alerts too far!

Post by monsieurgrand02
Is there a way or a setting to narrow down the alerts that I receive?

I live in Hawaii but I am receiving alerts from Washington State, California, Chicago, etc. I have no use for alerts that aren't within my state (or in the middle of the pacific ocean for that matter).

If this is not possible, than maybe it needs to become a setting.

Yeah the client will display from nearest to farthest. But in an upcoming beta client, the scroll list will only display local ones (< 30 miles). However the full list can still be viewed.

I was about to ask the same thing. Spent 30 minutes going through iPhone settings to see if I can turn that feature off. Keep getting police reports from 3,000 miles away, no way that cop is gonna be there when I hit that area. lol.

Cool! Thanks for the response, sketch! 30 miles would be much better!

This is in the works--expect to see alerts only within 30 miles in a future update.

Sure thing! I don't work here, but I've heard that enough times to be confident enough to share it :P

I've found recently as Waze use has increased (very slightly) in my area that the client sends any nearby alerts first. I don't know if this is just coincidence, but it seems to be true.

Next version will deal with that. You will get information on a limited distance and only if you decide to look at the list you will be able to view events further away
