With this post having more views and replies than any other post in this forum, it is sad to see Google is taking this stance with Windows Phone users. What isn't surprising is that yet another Google owned service won't be available to WP users.
Waze touts being "the world's largest community-based traffic and navigation app" yet Google intentionally removing a portion of that community, despite the users wanting to participate and code already being written.
To me this is just another case of a great company selling out and letting their wonderful product fall stagnant to Google. GrandCenteral, Feedburner, Motorola Mobility, Meebo, and the list goes on. Services get purchased and are then left to die. Waze looks to be a great service, but being a WP users I will never know how great it was. There are other, similar, products on WP and they now have my business.
I wonder how they justify this as "Don't be evil"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don%27t_be_evil Doing good for the world by forgoing a gain in user base, all because they choose a different platform than iOS or Android?
I await the news that Waze is being "integrated" in to Google Maps with most of the features missing and thus completely unavailable to WP users.
