Im john and live in Palm beach Florida
Ive had my G1 for about 3 days now and came across waze while googling for android turn by turn GPS
Seems like a great idea with lots of potential.
I haven't driven around with it yet but i Plan to keep it running in my work truck on my route
Hopefully all goes well :p
there are lots of new roads around here to discover so I'm sure over time ill do lots of updates

Welcome John!
Keeping waze open while driving (especially on your daily routes) will indeed help us improve the maps. If you want to get more involved in editing and fixing the map, please check the wiki for more instructions.

well Because of being busy and not being familiar with it i haven't done much as far as edits
but I wasn't surprised at all with how many new roads we have around here
lots of new gated and ungated communities
I just leave the phone in the truck charging while i clean pools haha

BTW I just rooted my G1 last night and it seems to still work well
at some points things get laggy with waze (even b4 root) but using the app/process manager in astro noticeably helps
BTW if anyone is interested I went with the single click method and i cant believe how quick and easy it was

I highly recommend this guide with the Cyanogen ROM
the backup/flash was nearly instant, the first boot is about 10 mins. all in all with downloads 30 mins or so and your set!

Next is to partion the SD card to move apps to SD :)
