MTE Mode - New feature

Post by
Hey Guys!

We've just launched a new version of the WME to Production, lots of fixes and tweaks.
But the crown jewel is our new MTE (Major Traffic Events) editing mode!

Please note it's enabled only for ROW and IL servers, with NA to follow.

Read the manual on how to submit an MTE here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BLA ... 2W1rY/edit

Thank you!

MTE is completely useless and unstable for me. Cannot ever Save an event successfully. Screen just goes darkish and nothing happens. No event is ever saved. Same in WME Beta.

Another Bug: when selecting a Location, if the city is not in the drop-down, you are supposed to be able to (according to the tooltip), search or pan the map to get to that city. However, the MTE left panel goes into "refresh" mode and never brings back the new event details.

What is the reason on creating an event on event mode and then repeating de info in closures mode (date and times)? Why this duplicity of work? Wouldn't be easier with the event already created just select segments and then select the event that they attached to?

And, what about a "repeat this event on" button for recurring events like Carlos's?

In most street events, not all segments have schedule closure identical to the whole event, so the need to inform the schedules for closure and the opening again.
I partially disagree. For example, in Mexico City we have a weekly event (Carlos already pointed out) that involves about 50Km long. That´s an average of 52 MTE that we have to create to cover each week. As far as I recall, for example in Montreal, they close some streets on weekends so the people could walk thru and I´m pretty sure that there´s also events that have "fixed" closure times around the world.

That said, my suggestion should be consider both types of event. On event mode, set the name, start and end times and then, on edition mode, select the segments involved, the name of the event (then the data filled previously appear in Dates and times) and if you need to modify them, be able to do so.

And of course with the option of "repeat this event on", I think we would have a better tool to start.

Once the closures are attached to the event, go back to the event in event mode and mark it “Submit”. Save!

Once your event is marked as “Submit”, somebody from the Waze closures team will review the event and decide whether to send a push message for it.
I not found "submit" to return to the event so!:(

Oops ...
Thank you @vince1612.

It is enabled when the event is already finished, and I sought this button during creation.
I would not find ever.
When checking in upcoming events ever met. ;)
Thanks

Will we be able to clone or reuse past MTEs and its linked closures? If not, it will be a pain to do that every week.
It is true Carlos.
When we were doing the spreadsheet, I copied and kept the segments involved to use in the next event.

Now with MTE in WME is doubt whether we have to get the old local events .......

It will be too much work, if not. :(

Hi @arturoae.
In most street events, not all segments have schedule closure identical to the whole event, so the need to inform the schedules for closure and the opening again.

"Repeat this event on" would be an optimal solution.

Hello @Arturoae, got it.

Here in Sao Paulo also we have weekly events with major closures in the central area.

We decided to always use "restrictions" that are repeated every week.
example

Ok, with the restrictions were without notification via push, but it is a weekly event everyone already knows and lack of Push, not behind the problems. Thus we need not redo every week.

Some street racing events, are repeated in the same place one time a year and in this case, we copied the permalinks closures in a spreadsheet to use it as a base to redo the event, of course even using the closures of the last event ever we checked in detail because some intersections and or segments may have changes.
But always it helped a lot in rework.

While we do not have one of the events repeat feature, it has worked correctly.

My greetings
