58th Presidential Inauguration

Post by Nimbus-
It is the time again, where we have a new incoming Commander-in-Chief. Such an event requires a tremendous amount planning and resources, both locally and from outside jurisdictions.

On the days leading up to and after the event itself, there'll be an expectation of road closures ranging from motorcades and demonstrations, both inside/outside the District. The day of the inauguration itself, most of the city will be limited to just pedestrian only traffic, in the SW quadrant (see road closure map below) Closures will also take place at the National Cathedral and more than likely, the Trump hotel.

If you'd like to contribute or assist with monitoring, a separate one-time Google Hangout has been created for the event. You can join by going here. It is imperative that should you choose to help, that making edits to local streets are minimal to avoid any disruptions, given that road closures cannot be added to altered segments (in some cases) without a tile update.

There is already a Waze MTE created for the event as "Pres. Inauguration" for planned closures. Below contains a list of designated road closures, outlined by the following local jurisdictions:
Spreadsheet with closures.

For mobile closures, the following Twitter feeds are very helpful:
A PDF permit list has been aggregated, for expected protests, within the city throughout the week. (Credit to CitizenTraffic)

Should you have any questions about anything, feel free to reach out to any of the local Mid-Atlantic Leadership or via the GHO.

I'll update this post with any changes, as they're provided.

The only thing with separate MTE's, is that they require a full day, for submission, in order to do a push alert via the app.

Right now the only planned protest, with an MTE, is the "Women's March on Washington" and that was added by staff.

Are we likely to have separate MTEs for other (related) events like rallies/marches/protests/etc, or keep them all under the single MTE?

Hi, for the spreadsheet, please sign up on team list for what you are going to do
Each Team has a tab for their closures. This is so we can work concurrently and not have to guess on exact number or rows and later not scroll so much.

Here is the MPD post.

Thanks to all for helping.
