I would like more warning, please

Anyone know of a way to toggle Waze so it'll give me upcoming alerts a bit earlier? Most times "police reported ahead" happens when it's too late - maybe I'm driving too fast?? :-)

And this makes overlapping of reports even worse. I can't get to one hazard to tap "not there" before one or more pop up for 1800ft down the road. Not helpful. IMO, the oldest alert should remain onscreen. Then once dismissed popup the next one, even if it is only 40ft away.

Today, while driving on a Waze typed Freeway, I got warnings multiple times at ~1800 feet (~.3 mile / .5km)... Seems like Waze made a change... :D

Code: Select all

Line 318: Alerts.Police Alert Distace: 600
Line 319: Alerts.Hazard Alert Distace: 600
Line 320: Alerts.Accident Alert Distace: 2000
Line 321: Alerts.Heavy Traffic Alert Distace: 3000
this must be on Android. iPhone does not have this file that I can find anywhere (only other preference files, but I have not decoded which ones would be holding this data.
Is it in km or miles ?

I would make an exception for permanent alerts (i.e. camera alerts). I would much rather know about the new hazard just beyond the camera that is always there (plus the not there button for cameras doesn't do anything anyway). Other than that I am in agreement and concur that waze is not handling overlapping alerts well.

I got that now. Actually, isn't there a bug with alerts that they don't stop talking when Mute is turned on?
I don't think it's a bug... it seems to mute only the navigational prompts and not the warnings. I find it very useful. :)

As far as I can tell, the alerts now say 2000 feet, but are lasting an entire mile (5,280 feet). 2000 feet would be fine but a mile is way too early.
