Road closure but unable to edit

Post by PlainvillePoliceDepartment
Good morning we have been trying to edit maps with correct speed limits, one way directions, road closures and delays. Currently we have not been granted access to edit these features. The Plainville Police Department has made several requests via e-mail but still unable to access this data. Thank you for your help.

I'm a senior editor and Waze Global Champ who lives in CT, so you can include me on your emails as well at WazeConnecticut@gmail.com and JAllen (above) is also a great resource. We can help with some of the complicated things you can run into while editing.

Please note, we have very strict Speed Limit Guidelines in CT (based on the CT DOT Office of State Traffic Administration's approval process). See a detailed post here: viewtopic.php?f=247&t=204937 The good news is that I just looked at the CT DOT PDF for Plainville & it's updated as of last year (and it's short). The bad news is that Plainville is 68th in population & we haven't gotten to it yet. But if you're going to be a partner, we can bump you up the list.

Who are you emailing? Are you a member of the Connected Citizens Program? I'm reaching out to some of my staff contacts now and hopefully we can get you guys some assistance.

A few updates...
  1. You mention a road closure in your initial post, I see no listing of a closure on the Town Website (Main page, Police page, or Public Works page). Can you provide details?
  2. I just ran the NEW local SL list & updated what needed to be. Just a few discrepancies...
    • 25mph SL on E Maple extended the extra 50 feet to Woodland St (instead of Linden St which is on the list)
    • 30mph SL on Pickney Ave #1 is listed Arcadia Ave to "Its Entirety", but the distance listed (.31 miles) only brings it to just short of Rosemont Dr
    • The listing for Walnut St says "See Rbt Hlcmb Wy" (guessing "Robert Holcomb Way"). Was the street renamed? If so, we should keep Walnut St as an alternate name just in case (it will need to be added).
    • I only did the LOCAL streets. I still have to review the Numbered State Roads (signed & unsigned) list for Plainville to see if there were any updates there.

SLs on Numbered State Routes
  • Signed
    • CT-10 - Good
    • CT-72 - Good
    • CT-177 - Good
    • CT-372 - Good
  • Unsigned
    • SR-511 - No SL established by State. CT DOT List indicates "FIELD REVIEW RECOMMENDED NO SPEED LIMIT. SEE RPT."
    • SR-532 - Good
    • SR-536 - Corrected between CT-10 (East St) and Woodland St (from 35mph to 25mph). Rest of street Good.
Also, please note that the Town of Plainville does not have an approved "Blanket" (or default) Speed Limit. That means that roads that do not appear on the CT DOT OSTA do not have an official speed limit & drivers are only prohibited from "driving unreasonably fast" on those streets.

Hi! What email address are you using? If this is replying to an alert you receive from the map, that will not get you a response.

I see now you are in CT, and that state management (below) is aware). Contacting them would be the best way to resolve this. Thanks!
