Petrol station (and other category) locations

Post by ditchi56
Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but I haven't spotted it.

The new Waze 3.2 which I have downloaded today allows me to search for petrol stations. Well and good, but it finds three in my home town, only two of which actually exist (the other being a repair/service garage that has never sold petrol). No problem, I'll edit the map....

... except that Waze map editor doesn't seem to know anything about petrol stations. Presumably a different source of data is used? Can I modify it? If not, how should errors be reported?

No doubt similar issues apply to other categories.

My fake petrol station appears to be 4Square.

Anyway, looks like the answer to my original question is that there is no facility on Waze to add/correct/delete the lists and locations of petrol stations?

Not yet. You will be able to add them soon. For those you find from other providers you need to correct them on their own services, 4sq being the easier of them!

It'll have an icon at the bottom showing which provider is giving the result. If it's the Waze logo, it's bing.

Although it's not always Bing results in the Waze results screen. Typically for street address searches, yes. But Waze landmarks and street names that can't be found via Bing also show.

Yes, there is currently no way to add, delete, or modify gas stations that show up under categories, gas stations. Waze intends to add this functionality. And the gas station data may not be from FourSquare. I am referring to the USA. May be different in other countries.

I have found on my phone that the categories search seams to default to four square results. When I select Waze results most if the time it will say no results found even though I have set up landmarks.

Thought it might have been bing, for some reason they are patchy by me. The 4sq results I get are a lot better :)
