Install the script WME Fix UI
After installed choose from the list of user interface enhancement controls "HIGH" and fixed the impasse.

 

Actually, I found that was not sufficient. To get the Add (+) buttons to appear in WME Road Selector, I had to have two settings WME FixUI:

1. Select the UI enhancement "Compress/enhance side panel contents"
2. First "UI Enhancement control" set to High (I think it's high compression?) - on Low, I can see part of the Add (+) buttons in WME Road Selector, but not the entire button.

It's annoying because I don't particularly like the other changes WME FixUI makes, but it was the only way I could find to make WME Road Selector work again.

Pesach, if I understand correctly, the functionality you're looking for - entering a segment ID (or any number of them, actually) and highlighting it/them is already functional in " WME Permalink Selector".

This script has been immensely useful for entering Mega Events, and checking that all segments are covered.

This might sound like a strange request; when using WME Panel Swap, it is possible to switch to the Road Selector tab with a segment selected. If Road Selector could pre-load the attributes of the selected segment in to the various fields, so the Selection choices could then be picked and chosen or modified from there (especially in the case of long or complicated road names) it could be a time-saver.

I was thinking a button to allow it might be good, as well.

Also, I'm not sure if this is possible or not, but if there were a way to collect and parse the segment ID information from the "selected text" of a Permalink (say, in Google HO, Slack, or WME Chat), that could be handy as well. If there were a button in RSel to populate with that, it would save a careful selection/copy/paste operation (Yeah, I know, I'm lazy sometimes... )

So, someone sends you a PL in Chat, for an area you're already looking at, you highlight the whole permalink, pop the RSel tab open, click a button to populate the Segment ID box (and maybe even automatically add it to the Selection choices) hit Select and you're there! No full page reloading, no waiting.

May I suggest an option to back up saved selections? That would help when using a different PC or for use in the beta editor.

But how do I select segments that are unnamed? I checked the unnamed segment box and added it. When I click select roads, it does not work. I also tried the previous discussion to type "" or ("") but it does not work.

Select the road name element but leave it empty. The "unnamed" is for missing road name, i.e. not defined at all (segment marked red).

You do have the option to save selections. But I would welcome to see "on screen" etc as permanent options instead of having to add them every time.
