[NEW] Web Login with QR Code

Hi everyone!

We are excited to share that Web Login with QR Code was launched last week, and is now open globally to all users on Livemap, Waze.com , WME and Carpool Web.

The feature allows any Waze user - temp (AKA guest) or registered - to log-in to their Waze account from the Livemap and all other Waze web products, using a QR code displayed on their desktop, and their phone’s camera + their Waze or Carpool app.

This will help users plan future drives anywhere by extending planning to the web and also help users make more informed decisions pre-drive.

Please give it a try (go to waze.com/livemap and click "Log in") and tell us what you think! Feedback will be centralized on our Centercode thread.

Note: Only Android 9+ or iOS 11+ can do this. Users with lower OSs must either:
Turn on QR code scanning in the device settings
Update their device
Download a QR code scanner app

Don't see a QR code on the login screen? Make sure:

1. You're using a web browser on a desktop device – not a mobile device
2. Click Log in with QR code near the bottom of the login page

Hi Everyone,

I checked with the team and indeed the QR code log in is not yet functioning on any beta platform due to some technical limitations. There are plans to support this at a later stage.

It does not appear to work when trying to log in to WME Beta.

I was able to login on the non-beta using the QR code. I was not able to login to beta site usong QR code. I would get a blank screen after scanning the QR code.
