johncampanale wrote: What is the battery % when doing this? I had a similar problem with Waze and CarPlay and found that I had a subpar lightning cable! If the phone was fully charged, I didn't have many or almost any problems, but if the iPhone was low on charge, then I would get all kinds of weird issues, even to the fact that I had the mfg replace the aftermarket head unit with another one. Once I got a quality cable, Anker 6ft one in my case, I've never had another issue!

Hello,
when i start my journey , my phone is at 100% of charge , and plugged with always the same cable i was using before . As i said previously , it was working without any issues before IOS 13.x upgrade with the same phone, car unit , lightning cable (not oem) ...
But anyway, i will give it a try with another cable :-)

Hi all,
I have a new concern with the latest 13.3 ios and carplay : each time i start waze on carplay unit, i have a white screen without map, i can start navigation but no map display. I need to unplug phone, then plug again and start waze and this time, the map is over zoomed, as if you were running a 640x480 resolution on a 1900x 1200 screen ( just an example ), and if then i turn off waze, then launch it on phone, the map is over zoomed also.
Did someone also recognize this behaviour ?

Currently driving a 2018 Nissan SL AWD. Waze seems to continuously have issues with obtaining a GPS signal. It works fine on its own; Apple Maps and Google Maps can get a GPS signal. Using an iPhone 8. The app version is 4.47.3.0. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi,
here in Italy, after the update to iOS 13.5 some of the Waze users using CarPlay, reported an issue regarding the missing speed-check alert on CarPlay (in Italy is not forbbiden to use systems for speed-check alert).
I reccomend the upgrade to iOS13.5.1 and check if the problem is solved.
Yesterday I made the update to iOS13.5.1 and everything turns back to normal (today I made a 400km trip without any problem)

I have removed the waze app from the carplay settings but it doesn't matter - If carplay is enabled and I start Waze on my phone, my radio now is full screen waze and I can't see anything else. It's horrible. Please make it stop. There should be a setting in waze to disallow in carplay.
I thought you could delete in the CarPlay setttngs on your iPhone?

Can't say I'm not disappointed in Waze on carplay, but seems like Apple is the main culprit here. Much of Waze information and functionality is lost because of the restrictions Apple places on mapping apps on carplay. To a large extent you are getting Apple maps with Waze data, same with google maps on carplay.

I've been trying to adjust. It seems like keeping your phone on at the same time is crucial as Waze tried to replicate many of the lost functions on the phone itself. This means I have to look at and manage 2 screens now while driving. My main gripes are manual re-routing, which I do a LOT while I drive because Waze seems very slow to update traffic patterns and integrate those into my routes. Lack of ability to scroll, zoom and most importantly click on events to get timestamps. Timestamps are extremely important because Waze isn't smart enough to know when an event is too old to be of any use. I leave work usually around 6pm or so, that means all those 5pm traffic jams often are not relevant to me, or the traffic flow has improved since then. But Waze still gives them full credit when routing me.

What I have to do is manually re-route when I get very close to where I need to decide which route to take. The routing results, eta, etc that Waze gives me leaving my office and 5-10 minutes later as I arrive at my decision point are VASTLY different. I could see a difference of 10+ minutes on a 35 minute route, making one route much better, yet if I didn't reroute I would be stuck on that much longer route. So in addition to rerouting I also have to manually move the map to manually check the relevant traffic events and see how old they are to determine if they are current or not, I usually do this while sitting in my parking lot before I leave.

Waze could actually resolve this by just putting a timestamp on the upcoming events page where it lists all the upcoming events. This way I can, with a quick glance, decide if the events are meaningful or if they are most outdated. Of course this shouldn't be an issue if Waze was just a bit smarter in figuring this stuff out.

Also for the love of God, PLEASE fix the freakin "cannot communicate with the routing server" errors, they seem to have gotten much worse the past few weeks.

I also have a Genesis G80 and would be glad to beta test if needed. I did send a request to be a beta tester months ago, but never heard back.

Waze used to automatically navigate to work/home when I got in my car, plugged in my phone and started driving. It hasn't done this in a while. Any way to get that back?

I've been using Waze with Apple Carplay (Kenwood 8906s) for some months now on my C6 Corvette. Recently I've found that when I start the app on my phone (connected via Bluetooth to Carplay) that the map on Carplay doesn't update. The arrow and the location doesn't move, but I'm getting directions.

The only way I can get it to work is to shut Waze down on my phone and restart it, and it works fine.

Again, this is a new problem, occurring in the last few weeks.

Any thoughts?

Stan
