Updating waze maps

Post by
Ok, so I've become an area manager around my home and have feet on the ground so to speak in regards to knowing the roads around my area. However, when I start to leave my home area I'm
not as familiar with the roads etc. What other maps do you all have open? I see some country managers handling other states and I'm sure some of you have never been to the state your working on, so tell me your secrets that aernt in the wiki. I'd like to excel as an area manager but feel I need more. I apologize in advance for the long winded question/statement.

One of the first steps in becoming an area manager is being proficient and curious enough to find out how to be an area manager without having to ask or be told. I've always felt if you can't figure it out, then map editing probably isn't going to be your forte. ;)

Yep mostly just go off the built in aerials. That alone gives us plenty to do.

I'll be the blunt one.
If you can't find the answer to these kinds of simple questions, you're not what we're looking for or need.

Did you read what he wrote? There are some parts of the site that all AM's need to see to get familiar with the best map editing practices. At the same part of the site you can find instructions on how to become an AM.

The work we do out of state is often limited to what is glaringly obvious from looking at aerials. There are some public domain map resources that can be used in some states, which are linked in the Wiki.

And that's the type of question we don't answer because the information is all over the website. All one has to do is look for it.

ETA: The poster that gerben and xteejx were responding to was trolling the forums to the tune of 60+ posts in about an hour.

Got interrupted in my edit for about 20 minutes...

ETA: The poster that gerben and xteejx were responding to was trolling the forums to the tune of 60+ posts in about an hour.

ETA2: The link you posted no longer has accurate information about Area Managers. All that changed yesterday.

True. My point is that this is not a secret, this information is made public to every one, not just the experienced users. That's why I don't get the "if you don't know how then it's not for you" responses. Let the guy figure it out on his own.

I just recently started the map edit craze and I have been primarily sticking to where I live (Huntington, WV) and where I was born and raised. (Pekin, IL). There is so much to do in just those 2 towns alone that I havent even thought about venturing too far outside of those areas.
