We are very proud to announce that the English (Australia) language is now available in the Waze app. The localisation team, made up of @LysdexiaEht (4) Michael, @Vestigal (5) - Kurt and myself have been working for months to perfect the language to make the Waze app feel Australian got our users.

To change your language, go to Settings > General > Language and select English (Australia). This hasn't been announced outside this community, and you'll be some of the first to use it. :amazing: 

Next on the agenda is launching an Australian voice pack. Stay tuned!

The search has started! The localisation team have started work on the English (Australia) voices. Waze has asked us though, what are their names? We have already selected the name “Ross” for the male voice, in memory of our old friend AJ Ross (Ituajr). But we need a name for the female voice and are opening it up to the community. Major rewrite to the Update Requests handling policy - Reviewing our statistics, the Local Champs have noted there is a large volume of Update Requests (URs) in Australia. There's so many, we don't have the people and time to manage them all, and the global policy on managing them isn't meeting our needs.

The Update Request (UR) policy has been rewritten into Australia. It primarily features:

- Shortened life cycle
- Clearer expectations on timeliness of responding, how and when to reply
- Reduced the episodes where a reply to the user is required
- Dealing with abusive or inappropriate users
- A clear expectation on how long "self report" URs can stay open for.
