2 Million cookie feet

Post by redmaxx23
Just crossed over the 2 million cookie eater feet. I have my eye on 4 additional trips that should boost that by another 500000 ft in the next month. I've seen a few wazers in the three million group but not many. One of the advantages of loving to drive back roads. Yesterday, my wife and I just pointed the car out of the garage and looked for some unexplored roads to add to the list. Gotta love a program that gets you out and exploring your area.

Dang. Here I was about to crow that I reached just one million feet but it looks like there's an even more exclusive club to shoot for.

Wonder if they'll ever give us a badge? All these cookies we've eaten, it better dispense insulin. ;)

Gosh, I'd think Oregon would be a good state for finding new roads. Once you get out of the urban areas here in Alabama, there's all kinds of un-munched streets and roads. The back of my car is covered in red dirt from all the country lanes I've blasted down over the last few months!

Cool. Not too many unmunched roads around me anymore, except where the 3G dies out.

After your trips, if you're not doing this already, check the roads in the editor, and if they show up as one way due to your drives, change them to two ways and fix the turn restrictions so the next person to drive on them gets better directions.

Mapcat-
Yup, first thing I do is edit the roads to make the navigation correct. I take along a voice recorder and note items such as private oil company roads, locked gates, 'horse only' trails, etc. My edit radius is a little over two miles either side so I do try to incorporate as much editable area as possible. If I'm not sure I don't change things until I return, although that might be weeks later. Most of the area I drive has been been my patch for 30+ years and rediscovering through Waze is just a bonus.
