Get back in the box at once! :o

All across the world we're finding & fixing the problems these cause, thanks (again) to Tim. Even if you created one - and locked it - you'd get a never-ending stream of requests to unlock it "so I can fix the connectivity at this junction".

Although a proper way of marking an allowable u-turn might not be a completely awful idea. :)

I regret to report a possible problem. :(

I installed v1.4 last night and have been working on a basemapped area. I began to notice that I wasn't seeing any selfcons (red highlights) despite situations where I would expect them. I downgraded to v1.3 and found one almost immediately where v1.4 didn't.

This selected node has a selfcon on the segment to the left of it. V1.3 shows this but v1.4 does not.

I'll leave this node alone for you to look at, whilst I get on with double-checking the rest of the area with v1.3. Please let me know when I can clean it up. :)

[EDIT] I have also found a revcon that's not highlighting: this node is highlighting Conference Road (to the north of the node) as pink with v1.3, but just yellow for a soft turn with v1.4.

Perhaps not, I'm afraid. Still no highlights on those nodes I quoted before.

I've opened the JavaScript console. When I select the selfcon node, I get
Uncaught TypeError: Object 121371770,121371770 has no method 'first'
and for the revcon node get
Uncaught TypeError: Object 121376514,121369626 has no method 'first'
There appears to be an error count next to each error message that increases rapidly whilst I leave the node selected.

I can find no words or any emoticon that will adequately express how wonderful this is - or indeed how frighteningly many of these I have found already.

I have been on a personal mission to eliminate selfcons - I hate how they make Waze try to u-turn you at every junction when you deviate at all from it's route. It also means that Waze will not then look further ahead - and maybe decide that the route you have chosen is acceptable.

Fantastic work - as always. What do you want for Christmas?

How do I get the highlight tab to show up on the left panel?

Thanks

I'm afraid some of the features of the highlighting script are restricted to Area Managers (level 3) and above.

Fixed saving of options when leaving the editor
Fantastic! :D It's been so annoying having to remember to turn "un-terminated" back on after every refresh.

Highlight landmarks when a specific city is selected
The highlighting seems to be "sticky": if I turn on city highlighting, the landmarks don't highlight until I mouseover them. Similarly, if I turn the highlighting off, I have to mouseover again to un-highlight the landmark.

Zooming in doesn't make the highlights change. Panning a short distance away and back again (1 screen horizontally) doesn't change it, but panning 2 screens away and then back does work.

Timbones wrote:Final call for feedback for this beta...
I checked the landmark highlighting issue and that's now working fine.

There is another issue that has gone back a few versions, but I'm not sure how far or if it's connected to the beta versions. I have been seeing a weird problem that I have only now made the effort to pin down.

Whenever I refresh the browser or go to a favorite or hit permalink, I find that the roads & aerials layers are shifted horizontally by a few pixels:
offset.gif
(4.87 KiB) Downloaded 1313 times
In this image you can see that the highlights appear to the right of the road images. Also, the cyan segment highlight where I have moved the mouse over a segment is offset. Although this image doesn't include the aerials, they are lined up with the road images. If I pan the map, the road & aerial images will then shift to the right, lining up with the highlights and actual selectable segments.

After disabling all other scripts and then re-enabling them one at a time, I have pinned it down to an interaction with Twister_UK's WMEOpenData script (both versions 1.14 and 1.15). If I disable that script, the offset behaviour does not happen.

It's not a biggie - I've got used to panning a bit immediately after following a link or refreshing - but I thought I'd better mention it. When I've posted this, I'll post a link to it in the topic for WMEOpenData.
