I did these this evening.
Inspired by PZ's original map editors for 3.x
Narrowed the traces a bit and basically copied the WME schema.
Slightly darkened the background, and added black borders.

Copied that to "Night", blacked out the background, and changed the borders to white. Darkened "Street" so it wasn't the stark white at night.

PZ, if you'd like to post this to the Wiki I'd appreciate it.

Maybe I'm being dense, but how do we install this? I thought it was just a straight file copy like the older versions of waze, I replaced the night schema with this schema, but it doesn't change anything in waze, I still get the standard grey background night map.
Are you running Android Marshmallow 6.0+?

Yea, 6.0.1 Nexus 6p.

Ahh, I did miss a post!

Needs to go to /Root/data/user/data/com.waze/skins/default/night/

Can someone post a video of how to change the dark default colors of the Waze navigation app into more brighter. It really sucks that such a good app has such a dark interface.

Kind regards.

Can't seem to change the properties of area places in the 4.0 color schemes. The stroke color actually seems to affect the polygon color. Has anyone figured it out?

First attempt at a custom theme… I’m calling this one Serenity. Very simple, very subtle. It’s meant to fade a lot of extraneous stuff from view and focus on the route ahead so if you enjoy high contrast this color scheme likely won’t be your cup of tea. Obvious influences from Google Maps of course, but some variations here and there.

This could mean that the schemes stay in the same public folder as under Kitkat and Lollipop, and can again be edited w.o. root. Could somebody please confirm this?
First of all beta versions, and their release notes are internal only and should only be discussed in centercode, or with other beta testers. They should not be discussed in these public forums at all. Second of all you are misunderstanding what was said in the release. I'd be happy to elaborate further in a beta approved platform.

It looks like we are at 4.0.1.1 now, up from my current 4.0.0.2, but I don't see updated release notes. I'll hold off updating to see if they update the notes later.

Strange. I was under the impression that the "declutter" option in the old schemas helped to control what was visible at each zoom level. Don't know why they'd want to break out schemas for multiple zoom levels like that. I didn't even notice the new folders. I replace whatever theme is in folder 9 with a custom one so I never even looked at the default after upgrading.

Yeah, they broke it and apparently have no intention of bringing it back as it would most likely be an easy fix.

I've been playing with some colour schemes today for the first time in over a year now that I've worked out how to upload them onto an un-jailbroken iOS6 iPhone ...

After poking around I have a question:

Most colours are RGB hex like this:

Code: Select all

Ramps.Color2: #f8f8f8
However a small number have 8 digits:

Code: Select all

Ramps.Color1: #bfc9bd00
What do the extra two digits do (transparency?) and is the RGB the first or last 6?
