You have access to areas you drive for three months after your last time through the area.

Are those roads now locked by a higher level editor? or have you not driven those areas in the last 3 months?scottlac wrote:I also lost my ability to edit the map. I have done a few edits that were successfully added to the map a couple of weeks later. I want to fix some things on the map that found this week but the map editor won't let me make any edits now. What gives?

1) Are you working on the correct Server?scottlac wrote:I haven't even been a member for 3 months. I drove the area last weekend.
I used the editor a month ago in areas near my house and the map is now accurate there. I tried again a few days ago to edit these recent changes and I cannot edit anything. I am locked out of the whole map.
2) If you are, please provide a Permalink to the area & someone can try to figure out what the issue is. Please select one (or a few) of the segments you are trying to edit before creating the permalink.

You should not be locking everything you touch, that was the old locking policy. The current locking policy is to only lock high-value roads. If there is an editor intentionally creating problems, you can try to reach out to them via PM here in the forums or any of the Waze Champs/Country Managers (level 4 editors) can help you out.Kandralla wrote:Are you the scott something or other that I've seen popping up occasionally in Pittsburgh? If so I'm locking everything I edit that I'm pretty sure is right, not arbitrarily, but due to another new editor who has a lot of free time on his hands and has undone literally days of work I've done.scottlac wrote:OK, a small area was unlocked and I made a small change. I went to another area a few miles away where I have traveled recently and it is also locked....
I really want to be a good map editor and follow the rules but if these people are going to arbitrarily lock me out of the places I go then it just isn't worth it.

Everything in the link sent appears to be locked-this is why you can't edit. Look at the properties when you highlight a road, you will see that they are grayed out, this means they have been locked by a higher level editor and you cannot edit them without requesting that they be unlocked.
My drives all seem to be there, what I'm seeing is when I click on Area 0 it shows all the area as blacked out. I'm still able to edit those areas, but shows that they are blacked out. Just thought I'd throw in my experience.
I've never seen an area expire less than 90 days after driving through.AlanOfTheBerg wrote:30 days I believe?
