iOS Beta 3.4.99.26 Feedback thread

It is clear from several other threads that many users enjoy being able to mute the turn-by-turn nav instructions, while still having the hazard, police, accident, camera alerts make audible alerts.

When considering settings changes, I believe there should be a "Mute Navigation" and a "Mute All" type of options. Also, by default, Waze should never announce or make any sounds at all while in a phone call. (Just want to cover all the sound topics in my mind at this time.)

Lots of people use that. That's a problem.

I don't use it, but I took the old Beemer today, which doesn't have my windshield mount, nor does it have cupholders, so I just had my phone in the little tray in front of the shift. When I picked it up, it was inadvertently upside down and I sat there shaking it trying to get it to turn so I could hit the menu button. I finally realized I was holding it upside down.

I know this has happened in the two months I've had the car, and it was working, probably as recently as the previous Beta.

It doesn't need changed. If there are thoughts of this at HQ please belay them as it will only cause worldwide problems. One solution does NOT fit all.

Perhaps if you could explain to us why it needs to be changed. At present we have Avoid Freeways and Avoid Toll Roads which appears to suit virtually everyone.

xteejx wrote:No, we DO give users the option and use the translation strings for description. Simple!
UK example:
Freeway : "Avoid Motorways"
Major : "Avoid trunk roads"
Simple.

That's a fairly simplistic approach based on the neat way we've interpreted the road-types though. That will not be the norm.

I'd guess the majority of users would also have no idea what a trunk road is or the consequence of avoiding it ("Stupid Waze, I've avoided Trunk roads and now the app won't navigate from Land's End to John O'Groats!")

I have no doubt about how problematic that feature will be in Brazil with users deciding which way should be avoided. We even don't have a translation for freeway, major and minor highway. The idea of the feature is good but it hasn't a simple application.

So what are you suggesting instead?

On ROW server you are supposed to see "country" and "all countries".
Can anyone (that not from US) confirm they still see "States/All states"?

Can you provide a screenshot? Last time I checked it was centered.

Perhaps it's because on the UK we drive on the CORRECT side of the road :D

Yes, here in the UK if you select All countries, it becomes all states when it shows the world scores.
