Have had the same problem. To keep the IGNs' from getting in there is to mark the system generated reports as solved instead of not identified.

Well, I'll complain. I find this exceedingly annoying. There is no reason that Map Problems should be generated based on GPS data that is older that map edits for the segment the problem is addressing. When I have complained to support in the past, I've always received the answer that Map Problems are not generated based on old GPS data, which is blatantly false. I also find it appalling that waze staff and IGNs will make changes based on the old GPS data without any regard to the new conditions. I think one of the most important advantages of waze is the ability to respond quickly to changing road configurations. The way waze handles the GPS layer seems only designed to undermine this advantage.

The difference between walking trails and railroads, at least for my phone, is that the walking trail name sometimes shows on the client map while the railroad name does not. Don't know about stairway.

Excessive Problem Reports During Construction

Postby sbelekevich » Tue Oct 30, 2012 4:01 am

I never thought I'd be complaining about the new frequency of map updates in NA, but I'm getting a crazy number of Waze generated problem reports here, now that the map updates once or twice a week (I just cleared 3 that appeared since yesterday).

US-41 is going through some major upgrades right right now that includes this area. The SW to NE running road (Packerland to Cardinal Ln) is no longer there and the current layout shown is correct (verified personally). Is there any way to get the problem reports to stop with the large amount of outdated GPS traces?

I don't mean to complain, but I've got noobs and IGN editors adding in the old/closed roads based on the outdated aerial images. One noob connected the roads by bypassing the locked ones, and an IGN editor reconnected another interchange with the adjacent roads that say (closed) after the name, showing on the map.

Thanks, I actually added a parking lot landmark and named it "construction" before reading the other replies. seems to have stopped the problem reports, although I didn't lock it until now.

Leave a note on the map in that area in the form of a walking trail , stairway or railroad and LOCK it. such as this:
https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=6&lon ... TTTTTTTTFT

or this:
https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=8&lon ... s=66468182

Some may frown on it, but there have been no more issues with IGN or anyone else re-connecting those roads.
