Is anyone with Safari 6 and Mac OS 10.8 (Mountain Lion) having any trouble getting the permalinks to capture selected road segments? Last night while requesting some unlocks to resolve various UR's in my area, I noticed some inconsistent behavior with it, in that it sometimes included the selections and other times didn't.

I'm sure that the use, in the US, anyway, of Bing for street address resolution, as well as Bing, Google, Yelp, et. al., for POI resolution is just a temporary stopgap until until Waze's own house number and landmark databases are more complete and accurate.

Even distributing house numbers per segment has limited accuracy, as city lots may not be evenly divided over that area, but this way it at least gets you to the correct block.

What we really need are address and/or landmark mappings to specific lat/lon coordinates, precise enough to make sense in a driving context. This way we can accurately find anything from residences to specific stores in large strip malls to specific parking lots in parks. I realize it would undoubtedly be a massive undertaking, but it could launch Waze way ahead of everyone else in terms of locating places.

I've noticed minor change, which led to state that I must scroll down to see "permalink" while using WME on notebook (1920x1080). this is caused by having white bar with only + (add) button and nothing more.
(on external display (1920x1200) WME fits the screen well.

just compare screenshots of new WME from previous week (taken from this tread)

and now:

change also displaced Add menu below the button... now it goes off the screen

please revert this change, it is useles to have screen-wide bar only for ONE button. thanks

This would happen if you have adjusted the browser's default font size to a smaller size. Larger sizes does not seem to cause this. The default fonts in use by this version of WME looks larger than previously and is too big in my opinion.

Having left hand panel script displays that exceed the vertical panel size is also what causes the road graphic layout vs segment positions sync issues.
well I'm using WME in Chrome 22.0.1229.94 with highlight script, so I just switched script off and reloaded WME...
i'm not aware of changing default font size
haven't helped. if I change browser zoom level to 75% it help with the menu going off screen, but I still have to scroll down in order to get to permalink. even on external screen with 1920x1200 res.

here is screenshot of full Chrome window with browser's zoom at 90%: http://oi50.tinypic.com/xc80uf.jpg

thank you much, font size was set to medium, but the problem was with the zoom level (which is adjustable via ctrl+mouse wheel and I accidentaly changed it to 90% what cuases the trouble)
thanks for guiding me to right direction. when using zoom level at 100 % top menu is displayed correctly and Permalink is visible as the page fits the window.

So it seems. Does this mean that landmarks will become searchable items?
I believe so. This seems to jive with their recent announcement to show advertisers' companies and stores along the way, which most likely would have to rely on landmarks, given that other services have often not been at the correct location.
My guess is that locations would help with these advertisements, possibly by being able to attach descriptions and logos to a special type of landmark, which could also apply to gas stations.
http://www.waze.com/blog/introducing-wa ... our-route/
so it is probably huge problem for Devs, to compare landmark's positions against "city" layer and if landmark position is within city, automatically fill address data?

in my opinion having address for landmark is great (if address data will be used correctly in search results, etc.).
on the other hand, having address defined just by country and city isn't enough, we need street too (and maybe house #)... how would you distinguish between X stores/gas-stations/ of same brand within one (bigger) city without knowing the street name?

last, but not least, no official communication again :!:

PS don't expect from me to manually edit addresses for existing landmarks without telling us why it is important, how is it used and what's the added value. thanks for understanding.
