"AM permissions will be removed" warning

Post by fotrik
Hello, I am area manager for more than two years and never was inactive for more than a week. But it's not the first time I got this warning by e-mail
You're receiving this email since you are registered with Waze as an area manager on world.waze.com, but you have not edited the map recently.

Based on that, we assume that you are no longer interested in being an area manager and in order to encourage active users to mange new areas, your AM permissions will be removed.

... etc. etc.
I am pretty sure that the inactivity check period is much longer than one week, so my guess is that it's a bug in the system. Is somebody experiencing the same problem or does Waze dislike just me?

You had an AM area on the World server?
I guess so? I didn't think I did. The only place would have been Honduras, but I'm fairly certain I just went with editable area and never requested AM status there. I could be wrong.

Have checked only part of my area but it looks that I still have my permissions there.

Forwarded right now. The strange thing is that it was not sent to my "official" waze e-mail but another e-mail address. I suspect, that it's probably because the recent AM area extension requests were not sent to areamanagers@... but via CZ country manager filled in the Google docs form and he probably filled my another private address there. Could it be the reason?

Just contacted support. Have you lost your area or just received a warning? Another user has also complained about this.

Well, I sent it to the head of Map Support, and he says you're not on an inactive list or any list to be removed and they have no record of sending you an e-mail, so my best suggestion would be to forward that e-mail (with full headers) to areamanagers@waze.com and let them know you're active and that you received the e-mail and that way they can take a look at it and try to figure out why it's happening. The Area Managers team is probably more appropriate, although I get the feeling they're going to have to refer it to another department anyway, but at least this way, it will be documented.

Possibly...Unholy actually suggested that you may have an unused account that has gone inactive. Maybe he saw the second e-mail address and made that assumption.
