Hey guys,

I'd love to get involved with beta testing Waze on the iPhone 3GS - how do I apply? I emailed alpha@waze last week, but no response yet.

Cheers :)

I think they are full, but they should get back to you. Apple limits them to 100 ids for releasing test apps, so it's not a very big group they are allowed to test with.

Hey guys!

I haven't forgotten about you—I got the email and installed the beta version. BUT! The GPS in my iPhone stopped working! :(

I'm in the market for a new one in a month or so, so I'll be back. I'm so glad to hear that the map view has been improved!

UPDATE: 1.8.99.8 does not launch on my iPhone 3G. Crashes after a couple seconds on the load screen every time. I've tried restarting.

A couple of us saw that also. Mine worked on the second day...

After a day, 1.8.99.8 STILL won't load. I have tried everything, even restoring the phone and trying it while unjailbroken (is this even a word) and it still crashes after about 15-20 seconds on the splash screen. Grr...I wanna see what everyone else sees. 8GB iPhone 3G -- can't wait for the new phone to come out.

Rolled back to 1.8.99.7, and it's still crashing on launch. I'm going to restore, forget the jailbreak—I've been meaning to, anyway—and get up to OS 3.1.3. I'll holler when it's done.

:) Very good. I was just logging in to ask if the version stamp was wrong. Mine downloaded the language pack just now, but when I checked the version stamp it seemed to still be 1.8.99.7.

Mine says 1.8.99.8 though

I've recently upgraded to 4.0 (b4), and no more iPhone reboots while using Waze (so far...). Might be worth a shot.
