Thank you, Twister-UK.

I think I have it figured out. Being based in the US, my language setting is "US English". Under that setting, the item name in the Layer menu is "Enforcement Cameras".

When I changed my language setting back to plain "English", the item name in the Layer menu is "Speed cameras", and URO+ does work. Checking and un-checking the "un-approved" box in the Cams tab does hide/show the unapproved cameras.

However, in US English, both the "un-approved" and "approved" check box does not do anything, even if you refresh the screen. Hopefully, this helps you find the source of the issue.

Unable to reproduce this - tried both FF and Chrome, both WME Prod and Beta, and both the Row and USA servers, and camera filtering still seems to work as expected in all cases.

Should be easy enough to add a simple "does place have description text" as a filtering option. Would you also like to see the existing placename keyword search extended to search into the description text as well?

I personally don't see a need to extend the search into the description text.

I don't believe Descriptions are copyrighted as they are short phrases or slogans,
but I am now a lawyer so I cant say for sure.
I just read https://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ01.pdf
and other articles on copyright.gov such as https://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-protect.html

But what I think you are talking about is Trademark infringement

I AM A LAWYER BUT I AM NOT YOUR LAWYER AND THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE

Not exactly. Short blurbs of narrative text are still generally subject to copyright protection. Whether enforcement is likely is a different question, but still, without the permission of the author, it is advisable to re-write something in your own words or to give your own description.

Regarding the 'short phrases or slogans' trademark doctrine, think more "I'm lovin' it", "Oh! What a feeling!", "Have you driven a Ford lately?", "The Heartbeat of America", "Built Ford Tough", "Like a Rock", "Nothing Runs Like a Deere", etc. Non-narrative phrases, used to foster brand identity rather than to tell a story.

It should fall under "Fair Use" provisions of the copyright act (at least in the USA), and besides, what business owner is going to complain, let alone file a lawsuit, because someone used their own blurb to describe them?

Yes, there should be nothing wrong with this. It's not like we are taking their description and using it to describe Waze, it's being used for the place that it was intended.

Hide or show ones with place descriptions? I see many where the text is copied off a website, which is a copyright issue.
