Landmarks overlapping roads ...

Post by Machete808
... can this cause routing problems?

I know the Wiki says the best practice is to keep landmarks from snapping to the roads (unless the road is part of the landmark). But I saw a couple of URs in which the Waze route was bumped to the right, and it was in an area where the landmark was covering, or at least touching, the road image. Wondered whether this was a possible cause.

Can you provide Permalink(s) to examples?

Only two types of landmarks (gas station & parking lot) suppress automatic jam detection and system errors.

I found these two landmarks snapped to the road: https://www.waze.com/editor/?lon=-157.8 ... rks=527489

However, there shouldn't be any routing issues there (as they are not of the Gas Station or Parking Lot type)... We have a few landmarks that are snapped to roads & a few that cross roads and I've never had issues in those areas... With the exception of the previously mentioned Gas Station & Parking Lot landmark special properties.

Next time you see this issue popup, please post a screen shot & leave the UR/MP open so we can look at it too...

The URs were along Paki Ave, in this area (somebody must have cleared them in the meantime). Since then I've been moving back the landmarks, but at the time they were partially covering the roads. The Wazer was routed to a parallel street, to the right, when the route should have been straight. (Sorry, I should think to make screen shots when I see them).
