Users like that should have all points reset to zero and not be allowed to accumulate points.

All that needs to get forwarded on to Ori (username: Unholy)...

I was thinking about this and remembered that in the US, both the FCC & the FAA prohibit use of "cellular devices" during flight (http://www.fcc.gov/guides/wireless-devices-airplanes & http://faa.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/262), so even though it may not be a TOS violation, it is a violation of federal regulations. He & his lawyers can have fun with that one...

Assuming this was a commercial aircraft.

When the Mythbusters took this on with a private aircraft, they couldn't go airborne with the experiment due to these rules...

Just was looking back through this for fun

I am prepared to argue legally that airborne data creation is not prohibited in the terms, conditions, and use agreements for the Service, and consequently, manipulation of such data afterwards through deletion, is also not a prohibited activity and not injurious to the Service.

Good luck to him with that given

Waze retains the right to block your access to the Service and discontinue your use of the Service, at any time and for any reason Waze deems appropriate, at its sole and absolute discretion.

His cheating doesn't have to be against the TOS given the TOS specifies that accounts may be terminated for any reason.

And the TOS doesn't specify that anyone is due to "earn points" for any reason at all either.

Nice!
It's sad that one would need to spell out in the TOS that this is only for autos.

That's the part of the response I found most interesting. My editing interest is neither the points (fun, but not necessary) or at all altruistic. It's more a selfish motivation (tip of the hat to Ayn Rand). I want a GPS that is accurate and consistent and I'm willing to expend the effort to get it. If my effort benefits anyone else, so much the better.

So thank you to all of you whose efforts have made Waze better for me. :)
