Serious inconsitency in Live Map and Waze App

Post by kcreary
I'm not sure where to post this and how to resolve the issue. If you search for the Vince Lombardi Service Area (on the NJ Turnpike) on the Waze App the place it thinks the rest area should be is not even close (somewhere on Broad Ave in Ridgewood, NJ.) This is hard to know when you're riding a motorcycle leading a convoy of 10 motorcycles, 9 tractor trailers, 1 bus, and 10 support vehicles! Try getting that all turned around on local streets! The good news is I know where the service area really is and how to get there!

However, Live Maps does indicate the correct location and route to the service area. My question is: since I was not able to flag the problem during the actual drive, how can I report the map problem on the app? A corollary question would be are the maps used by the app and the Live Map different?

Thanks!

If I search for Vince Lombardi Service Area on my phone the default result appears to be correct. Further, if the live map is routing correctly, the problem is unlikely to be default Bing POI result. The Bing tab on my phone gives "No result found," but I may to far away to get POI results under the Bing tab.

You will have to check each tab of providers to see which one you used and which was wrong.
Great, Thanks WeeeZer14! I have submitted the request to Bing. Is there away to direct the app to use one search provider over the other? I much prefer Google to Bing though, based on the FAQ, Bing is the default search provider.

That is correct. If your search term is "Vince Lombardi Service Area" the correct location is returned. If however, your search term is "Vince Lombardi" the result returned is incorrect (even though is is listed as "Vince Lombardi Svc Area.")

I had the same experience as CBenson (I see the correct result) but you may get different results being closer.

You cannot change the default search provider, but you can swipe along the bottom of the search results to see different options.

Note: the Waze results are not always actually from Waze itself and may just be a copy of one of the other results.
