The big problem here is not the infrastructure or the infrequent updates on either of the platforms. It's the total lack of comms that makes the editors despondent.
If they have an idea of what to expect, they can likely live with that. If the time frames change, update the community.

If Waze would just realize that managing the community's expectation with frequent status updates, is just as important as managing or fixing problems, they would gain a community that backs them 100%, no matter what...

Just as a reminder, I must say the current INTL experience is a far cry from what we had as the first few posts in this thread.

I was testing a long route on Livemap for one of the major national routes that I fixed turn restrictions on when I realized that it's using a different name for an exit near my place. I renamed that late evening on the 10th. I checked the status page & there it was : "INTL maps updated until YESTERDAY" :o

Just to give some credit where it's due, a big thumbs up from me to the guys & gals behind the scenes, and the more 'visible' ones taking all the flak from us unruly editors, that made this pipe-dream a reality.

Seems like we had another update for INTL. server yesterday, but no announcements on the status page.
Roads that I edited the name on on the 16th Dec was announced with the new name in TTS this morning. Can anyone else confirm ?

Seems like I've gotta start editing a daily segment somewhere to verify this.

I am aware of that, but SA is on the same timezone as Israel, GMT +2. Updates are usually on par with their announcements.

I would have noticed the update far earlier if was included in all updates until the 15th, as I travel that particular road twice every day. TTS on my way to work was the first indication for me that something changed, hence the question.

If an update completed overnight, the announcement is usually there, so my assumption is that it might still be in progress.

The date on the Livemap reflects the date of the last Map tile update, not when last the Livemap was updated.

I think the date of the last Livemap update got lost in the annals of history. It does not seem a priority for Waze at this point, even if most editors disagree.

It is after all our ONLY diagnostic tool.

Or I can just download OpenStreetMap data with the latest changesets and update i.e. Osmand (Android navigation app) whenever I want.
Or this for iOS that uses OSM. http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/gps-navi ... 40711?mt=8
