How is it possible to get more than 30,000 points in a week?

Here in Sweden we have some that we recognize from map editing and the community, they rarely come up in such high scores. But a few "new" users will appear in over 30,000 points in a week.

I'm using Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Android 13 Swedish and the latest (beta) Waze version.

It most likely is the issue Timbones mentioned but it's not hard to hit 30k points in a week from editing. Even in well established areas there are reverse connectivity errors galore and other problems to be fixed. It can be a challenge to do it every week, but it isn't that hard.

Not if your edits are legitimate and within accordance with the editing guidelines for your country. I regularly get over 30k a week and occasionally top 50k and have never been suspended, or even threatened with it. In fact the only editor I know of who got suspended (though I have heard of references to others here in the threads) was ignoring the editing guidelines and repeated attempts by me as well as other local AM's to start following the guidelines.

Also keep participating in the forums. Waze staff don't participate much here but they do observe and if they recognize you from the forums they are more likely to give you the benefit of the doubt than they are someone with over 100k edits but only 19 posts in the forums. That lack of forum activity is not proof of bad editing but does indicate a possibility of not really engaging with the community to ensure you understand the standards and guidelines.

To be honest I don't know what happened in your case. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps you were inadvertently doing something substantially wrong. I hope some more experienced Waze Champs who've dealt with suspensions more than I have (I've only had to request one suspension) will wander in here and give you better info.
But from what I've seen, suspensions are not supposed to be without merit. What I do know from what I went through and what I've seen discussed here is that it does require merit and good reason to invoke a suspension. And the basis of my advice is that the best way to avoid such merit is to be involved in the discussions here because the standards do change.

I'd also ask have you been advised of local editors to contact regarding your suspensions and if so have you tried discussing the why behind the suspensions. It's supposed to be a last ditch effort, and in my one case it was because he was ignoring multiple PM's from me and other editors asking him to change his ways.

Hopefully with over 100k edits under your belt you won't run into that problem again, I doubt your suspensions were for mere points in a week, unless they had evidence of you causing problems in your efforts to achieve points (such as double mapping roads for example where you lay a new road on top of an existing one.) Or some other form of vandalism, my problem child editor had figured out I was the one undoing many of his problem edits and took to dropping insults to me into the descriptions of some of the things he was landmarking(bodies of water that are already on the uneditable water layer). That I ignored, but then he dropped one into the name of an actual road. That was vandalism and that went too far and was what finally got me to request a suspension.)

Hope to see you around the forums more. Reading the Wiki is good, but keeping active in the forums is key as the standards do change and sometimes it takes a while to get the Wiki updated. For example the US Landmark page is basically empty because we were discussing what should be landmarked. The discussion died off with a fairly firm (in my opinion) consensus but the Wiki hasn't been updated yet, so I've been pointing people to that thread when they have questions about what to landmark.

Depends on how much time you have... I worked night shifts during Christmas. Most of the 4 nights I was able to spent at least 5 hours editing. Together with a few hours yesterday and about 400 kms of driving, I am at 22k now for the week...

Guys, but there other users in your country who don't like you getting so many points in a week( good work done and not for the just gaining points) so they lodge a ticket or contact the Waze team directly and complaint about it, Waze team block such good users for at least 2 weeks, after begging to them, then they give you editing permissions back.

I myself have come across such situations 2-3 times. This is very frustrating at times.

Hi daknife,

Thanks for the explanation.
I know I am very less active on th forum the reason behind this is I was not aware of the forum in first place, secondly was not comfortable with the functions of the forum.
I know users who could or have knowledge about how to directly contact me through PM for there concern regarding my editing, but prefer to go to Waze team directly and they have suspended me without any explanation. Then I had to begged for the editing rights and the explanation for the suspension.

Was I suspended because I was not active on forum but busy in good editing practice and making my country user friendly driving experience, or it's some kind of politics going on about giving some users preferences than other users.? I really don't know.

I am very much active on other social forums and websites and clearly know what is called sense of social responsibility.

Actually it's quite impressive to see that it's holiday time: In almost every country the editors are doing more work and therefore getting more points than two weeks ago.

I have a lot of free time at work and if I am not distracted by phone calls, youtube, movies or other things and can dedicate ~7 hours a day 5 days a week I can get 60,000 - 70,000 points a week easy. Lately I have had other things on my plate where Waze has taken the back burner, but it can be done.
