How long have you been hearing these multiple voices in the your head? ;)

I've not experienced this myself, nor heard of it before. I know that the directions will sometimes switch to non-TTS which doesn't include street names, but I've not heard it do it in the middle of an instructions. Usually, it will simply change the entire instruction. Chances are, you are not hearing Tom but actually a pre-recorded voice command. If you listen carefully and if it's not too noisy in the car, you should be able to detect that the quality (bitrate/frequency) of the non-Samantha voice is better/clearer than the Samantha voice. But, I could be wrong on this.

Did you try clearing your TTS cache? So Waze doesn't have to download each instruction every time it's needed, it stores them on your phone.

Anyone encounter this?

Having found no other solution, if anyone else encounters this, what worked for me was uninstalling and reinstalling Waze. It resets all your settings, which sucks, but it fixes the multiple voices.

I did not try that - I didn't know that option existed. If it happens again, I'll give it a shot.

I've also encountered this bug, and recently uninstalled/re-installed Waze for a different issue, hoping to keep the multiple voices but have lost them. Was hoping it was a feature rather than a bug, as it was actually nice mixing it up.

I'd often get a female voice announcing instructions, with a male voice interjecting "then", before a female voice continued.

I'd love it if it became a feature ;)
