City Boundaries and Smudges [Split]

Post by
[Split from UK Area Managers Map thread]

I haven't seen a "London" for a while now... Looks like it is all fixed. On that note does anybody know when the cities layer gets updated again?

Allegedly with every map update now! Though there is an issue with removing a city name altogether.
True. I have added some villages, and they appear as a city at the next update.
Old, redundant city names take much longer to disappear though, unless a new city name exactly replaces the old one.

I thought Cheriton had gone, but it's still there (just much smaller and out of the way):

Should have posted the (approximate) location of "Cheriton" in WME. Here it is: https://www.waze.com/editor/?lon=0.0382 ... =3&env=row.

As you can see, or rather not see, it isn't present in WME as a city, nor as landmark. It seems to be only on the phone now.

Stuck out in the sticks, not overlapping any road, it isn't really a problem. I just mentioned it for interest.

[Edit: sorry David, didn't scroll on to your most recent post]

There is one "London", tucked away miles from anywhere to prevent it re-occurring.

I've drawn and deleted a segment of railway from end to end to try to force a tile update. Check on next update. If that doesn't work then draw and keep a segment. If that doesn't work then Waze will have to do something.

I'm hunting for it.

Edit: definitely not there in WME.

Can you put an exact position on where you car is, is that Nutley just to the south?

Edit: ah, got my bearings off the Rose centre and the Llama Farm (both really good places by the way). Still can't see a landmark or anything there.
