202) I did the Ave 'S', 'W', 'N' in Brooklyn today. People were touching them over the past few months with inconsistent names. (Like Avenue "S", Avenue 'n', Avenue N,...) Anyway, this one segment is out of my editing area, so I need that done to

Discussion Topic 1 - Anyone who wants an extension similar to http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/151766 but for Bing, I edited his extension. Let me know if you want the code and I'll email it to you. I'm waiting back from the user to give me permission to put it up on userscripts.
Discussion Topic 2 - I've been doing some reading on the craziness of creating standard policies for landmarks. A lot of different perspectives for sure.

Too bad the thread is locked, because I wanted to give my thoughts on the matter.
Unlike the thread which wanted specific discussions on the landmarks, my thoughts below are general:
- It seems like most of the 'policies' are structured around how Waze currently behaves. For instance, the need to not map out businesses to compete with the paid advertising or to avoid cluttering the map. However, as the recent Waze beta is showing us, both of those large arguments are now invalid. Waze is now suppressing landmarks during a route, thus eliminating the clutter and ensuring only paid businesses show on the screen. However, the key thing to discuss is that even though they are hidden, they are still there. If someone is driving and needs some help spatially where they are in respect to what they see outside, they can drag the screen and all of the landmarks will show up again - thus still giving value for the landmarks. Now with the beta, I have to say I'm more inclined to create highly-trafficked landmarks - no matter the category, to help people spatially on the map. I agree with the user who wrote that the POI feature is very limited and constantly misleads drivers, especially at destinations which are large. Why not create the landmark to help them spatially get around? I had Waze navigate me to a local park, using the POI to a deadend without access to the park. Waze has also many times navigated me to a POI on a street that the POI street name wasn't even mentioned (for instance, it would navigate me to Storm St when I asked for 35 Lip St).
- I am a bit skeptical generating landmarks to follow one set of policies for one version of Waze to then change it in 1/2 a year for another version of Waze. Waze is now utilizing (in some countries) gas popups if you are within a Gas landmarks. Great feature! But that just proves that Waze has the ability to enhance this functionality with almost every landmark. So now (vs 1/2 a year ago) all gas stations should be landmarked to the fence-line. Which I'm fine with. I guess what I'm eluding to, is that I feel (especially with this beta), we should be more lenient with landmarks than stringent, as many users in that thread seem to show with their tone. Waze has the ability to really enhance this functionality and I'm eager to see where this goes; without people saying whether we should or should not landmark cemeteries (really? ).
If waze has such strong feelings that certain items shouldn't be landmarked, they should just delete it from their list. I understand it was included from their initial map copy, but by now they should have spruced it up a bit, no? I would definitely like to see Waze work on it a bit more before we get guidelines.
