mystified: waze-EDIT password is diff from waze-FORUMS pw

Post by
I am a bit mystified.
At my PC, I wanted to edit a map.
I can't remember my account or password even though I'm a driving user. So I do the routine... I request, get an email, now I know my account is ruck95014, and I set my new password Password1.
I use a password (Password1) to log into my account "ruck95014" and edit the map. Yay.

But when I go to FORUMS to post a question, I can't. I'm prompted to log in, even though browser shows "hello ruck95014" in the top right.
I try my account & password (which I know to be ruck95014 and Password1, because I just successfully logged in to make a simple edit). But I keep getting blocked from posting. Grrr.

After a couple of days I decide to try again. I successfully log in (top right) but again I'm blocked from posting to forum. SO I ask for a password reset from the forum login screen. I get a new password (Password2). Now I can login for edits with Password1, and login for forum posts with Password2.

Okay, this seems pretty fouled up. What exactly is going on here and where is it explained? Or maybe more importantly, how do I get it fixed?
Thanks very much!

They are supposed to be synchronized. In fact, I have never had an issue with them ever being different and have always been able to log in to the website, wiki, and forums using the same credentials which have never changed. The main website is the only place it should be changed because then it is supposed to sync changes to other systems. IMO, this page should be deleted so people don't use it thinking they are changing it for all systems.

Did you at any time change your password from either the website Dashboard, or the forum User Control Panel? (I'm trying to figure out where the break might have happened.)

Why did all of the OP posts get deleted in this thread? And a PM I sent to the user now shows it was sent to "N/A" and his PM to me has no information in it. Is this part of the forum glitchiness or did this user get himself deleted?

Nope, accounts are shared between the ROTW & NA Infrastructure - only Israel had separate accounts (but Waze is currently merging Israel into the world infrastructures).
