WeeeZer14 wrote:68.) I created the ramp segment and adjusted the names of the roads connected to it (adding direction suffix, changing State Route to SR- on exiting ramp, etc.). I'd like to see how this area works since exits 14 and 13 are so close to the split. If we get 14 to work nicely, I think that may create trouble for 13. As it is now if you are going to 14 you'll get a keep left and then a exit right. If a driver gets into the left-most lane, they may miss the exit. If we fix 14, we just move that issue down to exit 13.
I'm not too sure how much trouble this will cause. The directions for the split will says "keep left for... then exit right...". So the user will be aware that there will be an immediate exit.
Depends on the specific length/time between the turns (I am not sure of details) if you'll get a "keep left and then exit right" or if you will get separate but closely spaced directions. If it is the "and then" version, we are probably fine. If not, we may have someone bouncing between lanes because they took left to mean far left.

No clue. For a second I thought I was the one who made a mistake :)
I didn't even look at the name of the last editor, it could have been me for all I know

Thanks... some of these locks are VERY annoying. I became an area manager for most of my editable areas, and I'm STILL generating a few of these requests a day :(.
Are you finding less locks on regular surface streets? Many/most/all of them were supposed to have been mass unlocked. Highways and Freeways remained locked though and yes it can be annoying. Good thing you have me to help -- especially since most of the locks are from me anyway. ;)

WeeeZer14 wrote: BTW, on signs we can abbreviate so "US Hwy 46 W" becomes "US-46 W" and "State Rte 20" becomes "SR-20". That is ONLY for ramp segments though. So you can update this segment for example.
I actually wanted to bring this up with you. How will the voice read if the ramp says SR-20 vs "State Rte 20". If voice says "S","R","20", that doesn't seem to be that informative. And why is this only for ramps?
TTS will say "State Route twenty" for SR-20. Just for ramps until we figure out what is going on for shield generation. We will probably move to SR-20 or even NJ-20 in the future. If we can get concurrence from most of the major NJ editors, we could change tomorrow though. You can bring it up in the NJ forum (under countries/United States) if you want to get people talking.

Probably, but right now it was easier to keep it uniform than trying to change a whole highway.
I totally agree that consistency is more important for now!

Wajo357 wrote:Any update on why those segments from a few posts back disappeared?

This morning I stumbled upon this:
https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=6&lat ... 8,57600208

I just cleaned up a large mess on Rte 4 2 weeks ago and now a segment between the two highlighted segments disappeared and the turn allow got restricted from the segment to the right. Arghh... what is going on? I didn't want to fix it because I want whatever/whoever is doing this to stop. Can you help?

Thanks!
No updates. It was holidays in Israel lately so they are a bit behind. They acknowledged getting the email at least.

It looks like ejtek has already fixed it. Maybe PM them and see if they know anything?

71.) Right now, majority (of the time and/or the traffic) rules. So with a 7am to 7pm restriction, I'd say restrict it on the map.

72.) Done. Probably for the 5th time. (I did all of 1&9 and most of each of 1 and 9 long ago and have had many editors, including IGN, come through and enable all turns from time to time. Really frustrating.)

Some people are blindly after points. Some people just don't understand and think red means bad so they "fix" arrows.

73.) Fixed and simplified. No need to have that entrance to the apartments split at all.

74.) Are you sure that right should be allowed? It looks like that traffic should use the connector below the jug handle to bypass that entire intersection. I guess the other side of the road is the same situation and that right is enabled. So the turns may not be disallowed, but they are redundant ;) I'll enable the turn and we will hope that Waze doesn't use it.

75.) All connected up. I can't tell for sure but perhaps Elmer is one way?

76.) Unlocked. The parallel lane made more sense when rt 4 wasn't split into two one way roads ;)

In my experience Waze will use it, probably because it's one less "road" (3 vs 2). I've had to disable right turns on intersections in a similar situation.
Normally I would to, except in this case you have people leaving their company using this segment (https://www.waze.com/editor/?zoom=6&lat ... s=63899912) and the only way they can turn is using the right off the main road and not the ramp because they already missed it.
Good point about that business driveway. Which should have a junction added to the end of it if you are up for it ;)

;). It was bothering me before I split the road yesterday. Imagine you are on rte-4 and it says to exit "exit right and then exit right". That is nonsense. The fact that the exit goes through a 'shoulder' doesn't mean it should be mapped. It drove me crazy every time I was on it... lol
Good point. Of course when that was set up ramps behaved totally differently also. It was just fine at one point (I tested it after visiting IKEA one time ;) )

I was curious and discovered that right turns are disabled at several places along 31st Ave - to start with, at 72nd, 81st, 87th and 89th St. Are those correct?
77.) Turn enabled.

If someone can verify those other intersections, we can hit them too.
