-Have the street names parallel to the street directions as is the standard in maps and other navigation apps. It can difficult to determine what street name corresponds with what street, especially when there are many streets crowded together.

-Waze searches have a couple of problems. If I search for a well known common business, I get results for locations dozens or hundreds of miles away in other states even though I know there a many a few miles away. A second problem is that addresses are not listed with the search results, just the distance.

-Google search or another accurate service should be brought back. I sometimes have to search on Apple or Google Maps, copy the address, and paste it back into Waze.

-I would add a couple of options when reporting Hazards. E.g., (1) Hazards > On Road > Car stopped (it is amazing how many cars stop in the middle of the freeway, and in my experience this is more common and sudden than just objects on the road). (2) Hazards > On Shoulder > Construction (construction/clean up on the shoulder can be just as disruptive. (3) On Shoulder Hazards: option for right or left shoulder (Left shoulder hazards are often more unexpected)

-Subcategories in Favorites: E.g.: People, Stores, Fast Food, Gas Station, other business (maybe users can create their own subcategories)

-Option to turn off red light camera alerts (I really make it a policy not to run red lights!)

-when planning navigation, create the option to have the destination be on your right (e.g., in heavy traffic areas where a left turn would be difficult and/or when you simply want to drop someone off to the right)

Construction on shoulder->yeah, that'd be nice. If it's enough to cause some disruption or slowdown to the road though, I just report it as Road construction.

Current only way to report Vehicle stopped on road is to use a voice command.

The v2.x Waze app used to put street names in vertical/different orientations. Not sure why they changed that. Maybe to stop drivers from tilting their head to far?

Google Search issue is due to API change Waze didn't keep up with. I'm not sure if there might be an issue Google has with Waze using them for search results. They may have made it "impossible" for Waze to use Google. I'm hoping to get more details from Waze directly on this.

It was suggested long ago that Waze utilize the more detailed Foursquare venue categories, but it also has to be something which fits into categories from multiple search providers.

Please put your feedback in the version 3.6 feedback thread in the client forum. Be specific, with screenshots if possible, about what the "large road name signs" are. (I'm not aware of any display size changes from v3.5 to v3.6.

This has been suggested before... Waze will automatically detect the jam associated with the light being out and route you around it (just remember that sometimes it's still faster to go through the jam & sometimes you are the jam).

This has been suggested before, and is too complicated to implement (as the officer will no longer be at the reported location as soon as the report makes it to other users in the area, as well as l;cation prediction gets exponentially more difficult with each junction potentially passed).

. There are icon that appear for parking when nearing you destination, but for the most part individual businesses should not be mapped.

I have been reading the EL Forum - there are more than one thread related to Waze... I find this one to be related to your concern, one is an old post the second very recent. EL does not support moving police.

Completely pointless since the LEO will be on the other side of the state by then........yet more 'fluff'. The disreet Waze user uses good judgement on whether or not to drop a pin. The next Waze user can clear the spot in any case if the LEO is NOT THERE.

I'll agree that even Waze could use a little tweaking for LEO's on the move, but EL has no way of handling it at all.

EL users are even giving Waze support in that forum

Escort Live permits reporting of moving police. I think where this would be most helpful to other drivers is on a highway where the officer is moving the same direction that you are travelling and with a report within a few minutes of the time you are arriving at that locale. The algorithm could set a much faster timer to remove these from the map sooner. Even with stationary officers, there is still a problem - they don't typically stay put for very long - either they get bored or they catch someone and then they're gone. It's still useful information.

Since there is no such option in Waze, I'm guessing that Wazers are simply reporting a visible police car, thus cluttering the map, rather than ignoring the moving target. I would think it better just not to report them since there are so many places where they might turn off.

Downloaded the update/version 3.6 tonight. I found the large road name signs obscured my highlighted route.

It was ok tonight because I know my route home - I just use it to rack up points ;) but if I am driving somewhere new, my highlighted route will be covered with the larger road sign, and I like to see my intended route before I get to it to ensure I know if I have to turn off the main road, for example, without having to brake suddenly.

Would be useful if we could switch these larger signs off, or have them tweaked so they don't obscure your route, that they place themselves elsewhere on the screen.

OK, will do. This is my first time using the forum and I was unaware of the thread you mention. I will get screenshots tomorrow and copy my post to put with it.

Thanks, AlanoftheBerg.

(Edited to add: have found that thread, and one member's screenshot has the road name signs - will use theirs to explain)

I've brought this up before, but I can't remember what was said about it.
