WinMo 8 Acceptance

Post by Projekt_SHIN
Now I have been and always will be a Windows Phone User... And I'm currently on WinMo 8 and would absolutely LOVE it if WAZE was available for this OS... However... Its been more then 3 years guys... With absolutely ZERO progress on a WAZE App for WinMo Devices... I think its time to just start accepting that... And understanding that nothing you do, nor how much you wish, nor how many names you get signed on a piece of paper will change that... The Developers for Waze just don't view it s something worth investing their time and funds to... (Horrible Decision though I might add... Windows Phone 8 is gaining crazy momentum now...)

But if you absolutely need to have Waze in your life... You could just be Smart about it... And do what I do... I have a iPod Touch 5th Gen with Waze installed... I simply create a Wifi Hotspot with my Windows Phone... And connect to it with iPod... And voila! Being able to use Waze even though I'm a Windows Phone 8 User... Lol... Good luck

Just for information - worldwide market share data for Q4 2012:

Android 53,4%
iOS 36,3%
BlackBerry 6,4%
Windows Phone 2,9%

my profsional opinion is that WP won't break 10% mark and BlackBerry will stay below 20% ( as it is mainly used by office dwellers)

I agree :D 72% + 21% + 17% = 110% But not to mislead everyone: I posted genuine WORLDWIDE market data, and I did not dream it up as Rokcet

For some different data you can look at this site: http://www.androidauthority.com/android ... ts-151316/ As always you need to understand that market share % will vary depending on research company. However at this point in time one thing is clear:
Waze can run on more than 90% of smartphones ;)

Can you cite your source Rokcet? The source for the opposing stats has been given, your source has not.

That increase is almost entirely explained by Symbian's decline. I literally couldn't name one person using a WP device as their main device!

20? It won't get higher than 6.4, BlackBerry will continue to decline and either get swallowed up by an HTC or such like or finally give in and run Android like Steve Wozniak suggested recently.

Yeah, right! Keep dreaming! Those may be US figures, but worldwide it's more like:
Android 72%
iOS 21%
(Blackberry, WinMo, Symbian, Cydian and the rest divide up the remaining 17% amongst eachother...)
Your maths is worse than the Symbian users'! ;-)

But Android still has 72% marketshare worldwide, and iOS 21% worldwide. Which leaves only 7% to be 'shared' by Blackberry, WinMo, Symbian, Cydian and the rest...

Bottom line: there are 3,5 times more Android devices in use than iOS devices.
Those numbers are highly doubtful, but regardless, the android argument is totally irrelevant to this thread.
