shirlig wrote:Hi guys,

We'd like to change the house numbers mechanism in WME from editing by ranges to editing pinpoints.

As we can't work on the new mechanism while the old one is active, we will need to temporarily remove the house numbers section from the editor.

We will start working on it in the upcoming days and we estimate that it will take about a month to reactivate house numbers in its new format.

We will provide a 24 hours notice before it's removed.

Thanks,

Shirli
Hi, Shirli,

I tried Adding House no. in India Last week but was not getting updated, even after INTL Map Tiles Update.
Any ways let hope for the best for the upcoming update.

In case of house nos. UR if the user have mentioned any updated info. about the house nos. then after reconfirming it with the local data you update and solve the UR but if nothing is mentioned and you are not confirmed about the correct house nos. you can leave it as not identified.

Other user may have different opinion about this issue.

I know that it's still not working that's the one of the way you can solve this UR.

While localities are removing non-numeric street addresses, there are a still a lot of them out there and will be for quite some time.

Add India to the list of countries where non-numeric addresses are the rule and purely numeric addresses an exception.

In rural US, 2350A may be several hundred feet away from 2350B and be several hundred feet away from 2350C in the other direction.

As others have commented, not allowing for non-numeric numbers is just plain laziness on the developers part.

Opinion incoming: This thread should be un-stickied now because the 'outage' is completed. House numbers are no longer 'down', and feedback about house numbers should really be going in the 'new version feedback thread'.

Is this going to be true?
For now. The developers are aware of this, however.

That would have been a great idea a year ago, when the old editor was retired and house numbering was not available in the new editor ... and in fact it was requested many times then, also.

I can say that the new system will (almost ;)) be worth the wait, once (if?) they ever get it working properly. :? :)
