According to the June 16 update from WSDOT, the Skagit bridge should be opening some time the week of June 24. Not sure how much advance notice we'll have. I'm thinking perhaps that I'll want to reconnect the disconnected segments and try to work with Waze directly on ensuring closures are in place (again, as they aren't showing any longer on the livemap), and then again on removing the closures. Theoretically, that should be able to happen more quickly (and more last-minute) than relying on a map update cycle.

Are any of you actually paying attention? I already updated it yesterday and posted above when I did so, stating there wasn't enough notice for it to take effect on Wednesday.
@andrewressa, thanks for that and disconnecting Whitmarsh (again).

Oh, I am soooo embarrassed. Is that what everyone is saying?jasonh300 wrote:Hmm...so maybe someone needs to go in and re-connect this bridge. I hear it's open.

Bridge is open, but W.Whitmarsh road below the bridge on the north side remains closed and will likely remain closed for the remainder of the summer for permanant span construction.
Wow. The AP also noted that drivers were told to expect to delays. I guess so.
Maybe we need another road type to go with the functional classes:

Hey good effort Alan. You try to watch the news reports, and time your update to the real event and the map tiles being updated. That last is easier to count on now days but not always.
So Good effort anyway.

It is still trying to route me over the bridge even though someone disconnected it.
Here is the latest detour map. If that helps.
