"Wazers around you" and Wazers on the client's map

Post by
Hi folks,

As some of you noticed, in the past couple of weeks, there was a major drop in the amount of Wazers you see on the map, and the number of "Near you now" Wazers has dropped as well.

It took us some time to fully understand the origin of this issue, but we did manage to find it and fix it.
We uploaded a fix the the World and US servers, and you should see an increase of the number of Wazers around you on the client's map and the "NYN" feature.

We would appreciate your feedback on this issue.

Thanks,

Ori

I had an odd problem yesterday: I saw wazers on the map, but as I panned, they would disappear quickly, like the # of objects allowed to be shown was smaller than normal. Also, tapping on any item like a report or wazer had no effect. That could have just been a app-side bug though.

Rumor has it that Tel Aviv is full of Wazers. Maybe you should copy some configuration parameters from the IL-infrastructure to ROTW?

I saw no wazers at all today...

AFIK the Wazestats site uses this function. It shows a decrease since week 20, and dropped to 0 yesterday evening...

Is it possible that the majority of Wazers are now using invisible mode?

Sorry I should not reply this 'Locked' thread. But is this issue set as high priority?
For old wazers and have seen this thread, they know the issue. But for new wazers, they may thing not many people using waze.

I tried it a week ago with several devices in different parts of the county, but it was not possible to see any of the other users.

No, with two phones having GPS lock at the same location I cannot see each other after multiple tries (no invisible mode). Also, the Wazers on screen in a big city are randomly fading in and out while panning the map. The bigger problem is that some particular Wazers cannot be seen at all, no matter how much you pan the map.

Well, I still don't see any other wazers... Except maybe now and then, very exceptional, one blinking on and off...
